My beleifs in "God" seem to be very unorthodox. What I mean by this is that I believe that the bible, which it says, was written by meer mortal men, right? So why do people take it like every single thing in it is true. I believe in a higher power and I believe in "God" BUT is God really going to condem all to Hell if they dont believe and they are still wonderful people, never hurting anyone?? I dont think so.... I want to believe so someone prove me wrong.

I find it a dimishing term for the body part. Whether used by men or women, I get really irritated by it.

Does anyone else feel that way.

I an appreciate that it might be an easy way (light hearted!) to refer to 'breasts' in that way, but I think that is a problem too, that it needs that uphamism - like the use of the term 'sleeping with' - meaning, 'having sex with...'

Standing at the tops of escalators, blocking doorways, crawling along in the middle of the pavement so you can't walk past, painfully trying to work out how to operate ticket machines at rush hour, taking five minutes at the cash machine in lunch hour...

Every now and then you come across those Christian in here who believe not only that they are 100% right about their beliefs, but talk down to those who don't believe as though they are fools and will pay for it in the afterlife.

Do you believe these people would be hardcore Muslims unaccepting of any other religions had they only been born in a Muslim country and been raised Muslim?

It seems all too obvious to me that they are essentially the same people, and their faith is more a result of what they have been told then some spiritual awakening. Is it logical that so many would be convinced they are right (calling it faith) in one area, and so many, with totally different views, would have the same convictions yet be concentrated in another area? Of course, its quite logical that its purely based on how you are brought up and people are brought up differently in different areas.

Comments?

Most of the answers I get are from kind, well mannered or well meaning folk...but the intolerant and stupid goons from all sides of the Religion and Sprituality section (Atheist, Christian, Muslim, you name 'em) seem to avoid me like the plague...it makes decisively dealing with them much harder?

Are they really cowards who love to insult and spit at others but can't take intelligent conversation when the opportunity presents itself?

I know that the bible says that I am exempt from adultery if I remarry because she was unfaithful. I need to convince her because I love her and she loves me. It is just that small detail that holds her back. Biblical answers please.

I am a 21 yr old married female, and I came out to my husband a lil while ago about my bisexuality. I have never, nor will never cheat on him, but I felt he should know. I apologized for not telling him that before I married him. But, he just says that it's a temptation I'm going thru, and that we'll pray about it. Etc, but I don't feel that it's a bad thing. Even my husband says he knows that I would never cheat on him, but he believes that what I'm feeling. Or what I know to be true is just a temptation. How do I get him to understand that I am what I am?

From another question:

"ok mr.evolution explain this people who believe evolution say we come from monkeys and fish etc. well then tell me why there's any fish or monkeys wouldnt they all turn into people? no because it's not true. then why would we have babies and reproduce? wouldnt the monkeys and fish have babies that turned into humans for us? no because ITS NOT TRUE!!!!! i'll pray for you! "

Clearly this person doesn't have the first clue what evolution posits, and proceded to declare that to the world.

Even *Creationists*: don't you ever get frustrated in people who say things like this?
Do you ever feel like they make your position look like it is based on a lack of education and scientific ignorance?

That the Christians seem to think they "own" this section. I mean cmon, they use this section to preach their lies and to bash non-belivers too. Who here is tired of them taking up the usable space? Oh, and before you say its because im an ungrateful little witch, your right, im Wiccan.

Blessed be!!!!

Personally, I don't think any opinion is worthy of respect just because somebody holds it.

Should I perhaps respect Adolf Hitler's opinion that all Jews deserved to be killed?

Or Pol Pot's opinion that anyone wearing glasses was a bourgeois traitor to communism and must be executed?

If not why should I respect a Jew, Christian or Muslim's opinion that the vast majority of people on this planet deserve to burn in hell for eternity?

Personally, I actually think that's worse. The only way it isn't is if the Jew / Christian / Muslim doesn't REALLY believe in hell.

That was the original question. Now this is for those who answered the first one and didn't think that the quotes represented the majority of Christians.

How do you think this feels to the Muslim people, who have to see these types of generalization questions all the time? or the Atheists/Agnostics?

I'm not saying that this doesn't happen to Christians as well, but this was just an example for all people to be open minded

:) Have a good day folks.

Assuming you are of Jewish faith and you deny Jesus was the Messiah or the Son of God....

Do Jews (faith of) believe that the Messiah will be God or the Son of God? Or will he just be a man that restores Israel? If so, how do you reconcile the prophecies?

43He said to them, "How is it then that David, speaking by the Spirit, calls him 'Lord'? For he says,
44" 'The Lord said to my Lord:
"Sit at my right hand
until I put your enemies
under your feet." '45If then David calls him 'Lord,' how can he be his son?" -Matthew 22:43-45

Also if you care to comment, what does the restoration of Israel entail? Are there people from the line of David still in the area that could claim such a throne? JEWS ONLY PLEASE!
