Why are there horrible diseases that cause pain and suffering? Why do people hate each other? Why is there lust instead of love?

If God truly loved us as so many people like to preach, then why are we punished for something we had no control over? Why must we suffer from diseases and emotions, that were surely created by God?

And before I get any answers saying I need to find God or anything, those are simple questions that anyone that has a strong belief should be able to answer, even if you dont have a strong belief or if you dont believe at all.

I have noticed that when I post a question, instead of answering, people attack my intentions. I find that amusing as they have no way of knowing them. Given that they have no way of understanding my intentions, isn't it equally ridiculous to assume to know the intentions of God?

I've heard that God likes to kill people who go against him. And he likes to punish others with eternity in hell. Is this true, did God ever ok the killing of humans? Does God send people to hell if they don't follow his ways?

Doesn't seem like such a loving God to me.....

The answer that will be offered is that Jesus allows an exemption to that, and if that is the case, and the laws of Leviticus are no longer in effect, then why condem homosexuality?

So much of the Old Testament is hypocritical, racist, sexist, and useless today! If it was perfect the first time, then why did Jesus come back and tell everyone to throw out the old laws?

Why, in other words, is the Bible so useless? Why does the author of the Bible, who is supposed to be God, who is supposed to be all-knowing, know so little? Why is the knowledge of the author limited to the knowledge of the primitive men who wrote the book?

But if you think about the Bible as being a book written by primitive men like you would find in the remote regions of Afghanistan today, it makes complete sense.

My mom is so homophobic but she claims shes not. Shes asked me before because of all my gay friends and messages on my phone (why she needs to look through my things on my phone is beyond me!) I just say no im not and make up some excuse about it. I have a good reason for not telling her which is that i fear i wont have a place to stay cuz im only a junior in high school. I know that i should wait but my moms asked my so ******* much that i want to give in and tell that i am and if she doesnt like it...she can get over it. Its annoying feeling like i have to change into this "perfect heterosexual girl" everytime i come home from school or parties. I want to be myself...but i cant! If i were to be myself around my mom it would be nothing but ridicule and hurt. What should i do cuz im pround of being a lesbian but if being proud means no home or food...im backing down.

It really is odd. Obviously Paul benefitted from a personal meeting with the resurrected Christ. Because of the personal visit, Paul could see for himself the truth of the resurrection, and he could ask Jesus questions.

So... Why doesn't Jesus appear to everyone and prove that he is resurrected, just like he appeared to Paul? There is nothing to stop Jesus from materializing in your kitchen tonight to have a personal chat with you. And if you think about it, Jesus really does need to appear to each of us. If Paul needed a personal visit from Jesus to know that Jesus was resurrected, then why wouldn't you?

Let's imagine that Jesus truly is God. What might he have done to prove it? He could have started by taking one of his most famous quotes from the Bible and acting on it. In Matthew 17:20 Jesus says quite clearly:

For truly, I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.
To prove that he is God, Jesus would have moved a mountain.

Jesus was a man who claims to be God. If he is God, then he ought to be able to prove it in a real, inimitable way. If he cannot prove it then, quite clearly, he is not God.

Imagine that someone, today, were to come up to you and say, "I am God, and I will prove that I am God by healing the sick and turning water into wine!" What would you say? Be honest.

Everyone has seen all sorts of "faith healers" who can "heal" the sick. If it were true, then we would not need doctors, hospitals or prescription medicines.
