God doesn't punish people and he doesn't send them to hell. You can only go to hell if you totally reject God. God wants you to choose him. Hell is separation from God and so you choose Hell by refusing God.

OK, I am not sure where you heard that but it makes me laugh. Obviously you haven't researched much. If you take a comparative religion class or talk to anyone who does believe in god, they will tell you you are definitely wrong. God is different in many different cultures and symbolized in many ways none of which that you have described. In some religions he/she is an energy that envelopes the world. To others it is a person and definitely not a person of death or hate but one of love and acceptance. Either way, you definitely have the wrong idea. But believe what you want. That's the awesome thing about life. Take a religion class at a college if you want to be educated about it. Or talk to someone who isn't Bias.

The God I grew up in church learning about was vengeful, and I was scared to death of God as a child.
But, the God I've come to know is loving and tolerant. Whoever first painted the vengeful/eternity in hell God did millions of people a huge disservice.

our God is a loving God... He will do right by us as long as we do right by Him... our God is also a violent God. When God sees so much corruption, bad, and evil among us... yes He will punish us. He is very loving because if He had no mercy on us, none of us would be here... Hey I wouldn't even be sitting here answering this question. He makes all things possible and only asks for us to follow Him... and we can't even do that right. So when you ask me is God intolerant... i say no... God is merciful.

I think God must be very tolerant or he could never be so forgiving. We won't get to Heaven just by following his ways.
The only unforgivable sin is to turn ones back on God and deny him.

If God was tolerant then their would be no Hell. The Devil used to be his best angel until he disobeyed and sent him to hell. Does that prove how he works...no but it what we know until we die. Because he also forgives all our sins if we repent honestly.
