1. No one really knows but there are estimates that place it between 4-6 billion years.

2. 186,000 miles per second.

3. About 92900000 miles away.

These answers should tell you that I am not a christian. What would you expect from people who live their lives according to the book of superstition (bible) ?

If you are trying to trap Christians with questions like this, you need to consider the facts 1st.
fact: the scientific community has established an APPROXIMATE age of earth, however since no-one was there to watch it come to being, there is no proof of any of the current estimates of age
fact: light travels at the speed of light - this is indisputable, however since far away stars' light takes so very long to reach earth - that it would prove the age of the earth. There are several flaws in this argument and here are 2:
1) being that it wouldn't have mattered when the earth came to be if the stars were already there,
and 2) there are infinately more stars in space than we have even been able to see, most emit light which hasn't even reached earth as yet - therefore the theory of the earth's age is ambiguous at best.
fact: the closest star to earth is the sun. Assuming that you are referring to the closest star OTHER than the sun, then I would suppose that you again attempting to catch someone off guard with the supposition that the distance of the star + the time it takes the light to reach the earth would prove that the earth is ancient. however if the earth were in fact, created by God, the light from the stars would have been instantaneous, for God, being all powerful, would have created them ALREADY SHOWING THE LIGHT.
Carefully studied, it is easy to see that scientific theory is just that - theory. Both the Ancient earth model and the Creation model are theories - neither provable by fact - and therefore both - when touted as indisputable by their supporters, are belief systems based on faith.

You need to ask questions when you do not have faith. That is okay. Let us worry about things that do not matter, then:

How old is the earth?
The earth has no definitive age (no credible scientist will give you less than a hundred-million year window let alone an actual year). Various "Christians" have different opinions about this, but I personally believe that the Earth is several billion years old (and it was created by God).

How fast does light travel:
In a relatively flat gravitic plane, light travels at the constant "c" which is approximately 186,000miles per second. As space-time curves (through the presence of large quantities of mass), that speed can decrease. There is no absolute time, so it is actually possible for some light to appear to travel faster than other light, this is a function of special relativity. (God created light, by the way.)

How far away is the closest star?
The closest extra-solar star is Alpha Centauri and it's twin stars, which collectively are about 4.35 light years away. (God created Alpha Centauri).

I am not sure what point you were trying to make with this question, but it is clear that you either know the answers or know an easier way to get them.

What are you looking for here?

The earth is 6,000 years old .
There are a growing number of scientists who are concluding the earth is actually relatively young. They have studied population growth, the amount of meteoric dust on the earth's surface, the quantity of nickel in the oceans, and carbon-14 build up. Many of these scientists believe the earth is more in the range of 7, 000 years old. Beloved, one thing we do know is life begets life and creation implies a Creator: "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth" (Gen. 1: 1). In all honesty, there are matters scientists and theologians do not definitively know as to the age of the earth. True science and the Bible, though, do not conflict.

All light waves travel ata speed of about 300,000 (300 thousand) kilometers per second in a vacuum such as space. That's about 186,000 miles every second. That means light can travel almost eight times around the Earth in a second. That's pretty fast! Light has slightly slower speeds when it travels through denser material such as a planet's atmosphere or a piece of glass, but we don't notice the difference.

This is actually a trick question. The closest star to the Earth would be the sun, at a distance of about 93 million miles. The closest star outside our solar system would be Proxima Centauri at about 4 light years from Earth.

Gravity effects the speed of light. This has been demonstrated as an incontrovertible fact. Often a strong gravitational object in space will "bend" light into another direction.

Since gravity slows the speed of light, when light travels through a complete void, its speed increases exponentially. Thus it is not an issue that the light from the furthest star was visible within hours or minutes after it was created.

Besides, there is no reliable method for calculating the distance of a star. To triangulate the position of a distant star using the position of the earth on opposite sides of the sun is extremely unreliable given the narrow triangle it creates relative to the distances they want us to believe were "measured". A better word would be "guessed at".

Thus, the earth is about 6010 years old, light varies in its speed based on the gravitational fields it penetrates, and the closest star is Alpha Centauri which is guessed to be 13000 astronomical units from earth.

Why r u asking a christain, shouldn't u know this if your an atheist? Well here u go:
1. 4.51 to 4.55 billion years.
2. It takes 499 seconds for light to travel from the Sun to the Earth.
3. Our Sun is the closest star at 93 million miles distance.

I can answer them to the best of my ability according to what the Bible and observable scientific evidence has shown.

1.The earth is approximately 6000 years old.
2. In a vacuum, light travels approximately 3e8 m/s. Over the past centuries, this value has dropped by over 1500 km/sec.
3. The closest star (apart from the sun) to earth, Proxima Centauri, is 40.7 million million kilometres (c. 25 million million miles) away.

Please note that distance = rate * time, but according to general relativity, time is not a constant. Read below:
Two things are believed (with experimental support) to distort time in relativity theory—one is speed and the other is gravity. Einstein’s general theory of relativity, the best theory of gravity we have at present, indicates that gravity distorts time.

This effect has been measured experimentally, many times. Clocks at the top of tall buildings, where gravity is slightly less, run faster than those at the bottom, just as predicted by the equations of general relativity (GR).

When the concentration of matter is very large or dense enough, the gravitational distortion can be so immense that even light cannot escape. The equations of GR show that at the invisible boundary surrounding such a concentration of matter (called the event horizon, the point at which light rays trying to escape the enormous pull of gravity bend back on themselves), time literally stands still.

If we told you the correct answer to all these, would you then believe god created the earth, light, and all the stars?

The earth is probably a few trillion years old. Since God didn't create the sun until the 4th day the evening and the morning could have lasted a trillion years.
The speed of light does not interest me. Nor does the distance of the closest star.

You need a Christian for that? Poor guy.

1. 4.51 to 4.55 billion years.
2. It takes 499.0 seconds for light to travel from the Sun to the Earth.
3. Our Sun is the closest star at 93 million miles distance.

1-Science states that it estimates earth at about 4.54 billion years old, but have not found a way to determine the exact age of the Earth... because of the plate tectonics process, etc.

2- 299,792.458 km/s in a vacuum, 12000 Lunar orbits/Earth day (also stated in the Quran before modern scientist came up with their equation

3- 500 light seconds.

Does it surprise you that a christian has a deep interest in science?
