It depends if you're an observant Jew or not.
Do you keep the Shabbat? Do you keep Kosher?

Being a Jew its not only about God and religion, its also about common history, common culture and common destiny.

I'm a proud Jew but not an observant Jew. I celebrate all the holidays, I know the Jewish history and culture and instill it to my children. But I don't keep kosher and I don't keep shabbat.

And... I have a small tattoo that I liked. I look at it as adorning the body like ear piercing and not to the contrary.

Well, it can't be undone anyway, if you already have them. If you don't, it's best not to get them done if you have *any* qualms. That's why I didn't get my first until I turned 30--and I'm Pagan.

Some people claim to be all good and holy, and look that way on the surface, but bear lifelong reminders of violating what they've been told were their God's commandments in places that don't show. I don't know Judaism, but I know people, and that is one thing about people that I know for absolute certain.

It's certainly ok for you to NOT have tattoos, but if you are Jewish then you know that "tattoo" isnt in the Hebrew text. It says not to cut or mark your bodies FOR THE DEAD. Plus, not a whole lot of people worship tattoos nor worship the picture the tattoo is of.

I think if you are thinking of getting a tat make sure it is something you really like and want forever, Once it is done it is done no going back. That is why I don't have one yet I have not found one I really like yes there are a lot of cool one's out there but not one I want forever.

i cant answer you in from a jewish point of view .. but i have some very beautiful tatoos
i asked a spiritual teacher once about them as i was concerned about the religious/spiritual side of this
and i was told that if they make me more beautiful .. if they enhance my confidence ... then why not
this body is only temporary ... we arent damaging our soul
so if you find it is ok with your religion .. then get something beautiful that says something about your personality

i have a gorgeous purple fairy and a native american armband with feathers

I think you should ask God - not strangers on a message board.

There are Bible passages instructing us to not cut or mark the flesh.

After all, our bodies are a temple for God, so take it up with him but I would say No Go.

Besides, the female body is beautiful - myself and most of my friends (educated professionals) think they make women look trashy.

well if your Jewish then you should not get a tattoo because the Torah says not to.

Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD” (Leviticus 19:28).

honestly...do what you want. You only live once and if you can't live without that tattoo you've wanted since you were born than I suggest that you get it in a place where only you will be able to see it.

If you have not accepted Jesus,it doesn't matter much!Jesus said not to profane the temple of God(our bodies).
I respect all beliefs in a God,no matter what(except Satan worship),but I cannot see how anyone could not have accepted Jesus when God told everyone he was comming for hundreds of years, then when he gets here,he was lied on & rejected!
Even when he was raised up,the two guards lied & said His deciples came & took Him away & bribed them to keep quiet, just so they would not get in trouble for witnessing His ressurection called liars themselves!I would not care! Call me anything! I know what I saw!
