I always say I'll start in September and end up buying them in mid December. Hopefully this year I will.

I thought about starting today actually when I was in the shower this morning. I almost always start beginning the first part of October. I get about 2/3 to 3/4 of it done by the first part of Dec. then the rest by a couple of weeks before Dec. usually. I have such a stressful Nov. and Dec. at work because of Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. So doing my Christmas shopping early and beating the crowds really help. Gives you time to focus on the individual people you are buying for also so your not just grabbing at anything last minute.

don't start shopping in september please because that just seems a bit sad. It's one day of the year and you have the rest of the year to think about. Maybe mid november but not september!
I don't really celebrate christmas present giving. It's not the idea of Christmas and people have lost the true meaning of Christmas.
Celebrate life and give hugs for presents and forget the new action man

Hi
I start buying in August or September, and its not a rule, it just happens that I run across something that I know will make a great gift. I like to bargain shop and get nice gifts for a cheap price, which is a good thing since there are 72 people on my list between relatives, very close friends, my family and people that work for me. I tried reducing stress by purchasing gift cards but I missed all the pretty gifts under the tree.

The day after Christmas. When I see something that I think will make a good Christmas gift I will buy it and put it up. I am usually still buying up until Dec 24

I shop all year. I have a gift closet, and when I see a really neat item, or something at a good price I pick it up and put it in my gift closet. I set myself a goal of buying at least one Christmas gift each month - so that by the time Christmas rolls around I've got quite a bit done.

I used to start my Christmas shopping the day after Christmas. I'd bargain shop for the next year. I'd often have my Christmas shopping done before February. BUT...in recent years we've gotten away from the material aspect of the holiday. We now bake for family and friends and we make homemade gifts. I still buy little gifts from time to time.

I just grew tired of the stress of the holiday. It seemed to have lost its meaning.

Believe it or not, I start the day after Christmas. I return things, and I see other things and buy them. Sometimes I give them for birthday presents throughout the year. I always stock up on extra things when I shop.Running out of closet space though!
