I was just wondering how many and which languages you guys know with a little history of how you came to learn them. I love learning languages, and as of right now I know Spanish and am learning French and Italian, and slowly but surely, I am teaching myself the Russian Cyrillic alphabet...

most ppl outside of texas think texans are freaky ppl who have like farms and everything and laugh at us (texans) when we go 2 like another state cause of our ""texan accent""? im from houston and barely any1 has farms....maybe like horses...but definitly no pigs or chickens or stuff like that....unless ur in high skool and u r in FFA....but otherwise barely any of us (texans) have farms...but i have to admit that we do say yall ALOT...but thats a normal texan!!!

if yes, do you still hate 'em or did you somehow overcome your upbringing? what's with Mel Giblson?

i was raised to hate nearly every other race/culture. my dad was very intelligent and very bigotted. i'd be just like him but he was a rotten role model so his beliefs didn't take with me. my brther & sister both married blacks (we're white) so i guess they didn't go for dad's insanety either. how did you do? are you a biggot or what? was there bitter biggotry in your family?

So don't get all upset, I'm just asking a simple question (no need to be defensive here.. we're all brothers and sisters trying to make sense of this universe though whatever means)

In numerous surveys it has been shown that religious beliefs diminish as education levels rise. The percentage of "believers" among high school drop-outs is very high.. gradually decreasing all the way up to graduate school degree holders who, as a group, are very irreligious (yeah probably athiests)

This Q is targeted towards american christians, but feel free to answer away...

I just realized that there is a connection. They are all related where does the Muslim relgion differ from christianity? At what point does it diverge and at what point is it the same? Perhaps I am confused, but I think there are some books or people in common to all 3?

Please no bashing on me this is just an information question to broaden my world view. I am just trying to be educated.

Any links would be appreciated for comparrison or contrast. I am not in school just a student of live trying to understand the world.

I was just skimming over a question asked by another Yahoo! user regarding the pronounciation of Houston in NY vs. TX. This promptly led me to wonder about the people who throw in "r"s randomly into words.

The #1 word that pops into mind is "washer." I have met people who pronounce it as "warsher," and was wondering if there is a specific region in the US where this may have stemmed from? Or is this just a general "tom-ay-to tom-ah-to" type no-real-answer deal?
