People don't like what they don't understand and fear what they don't understand. They like those who are the same as they are. It is really sad but as we become educated about how much we have in common with other humans, we lose the racist thinking.
When I was a little girl, my grandfather did not like blacks because he had always heard bad things about them from other people of his generation. However, years later, the pastor of my grandparent's church moved on and the new pastor was a black man. Soon the congregation had about as many Hispanics and Blacks as Caucasian people. My grandfather's heart changed. My grandparents often invited the pastor and his wife over to their home. My grandfather often said that he counted this man of God amongst his best friends. When Grandpa died, this pastor officiated at Grandpa's funeral.

Because everybody seems to "carry their own chairs".....pride, VERY high self concept, lack of knowledge about the races that they belittle or zero interest of knowing other nation's strengths other than weaknesses.........

they are either racist because of thier upbringing, or fear. either fear of something different or fear of having to take responcibility for thier own mistakes instead of pushing them off on another race.
