Most major hotels have cameras in the public
areas of the building, including the elevators. This is due to the fact that a lot of thieves commit luggage thefts from the lobby, or walk down the hallway & push on doors to see if any are unlocked. It protects the guests,
and prevents phony claims against the hotel.

There may be cameras. But not in guest rooms. The management might fix camers to supervise thier staff and for security puposes. If you found or come to know hotels with cams in rooms... you can put a paper with an adhesive tape.lol.
