I was raised Catholic and so was my husband but recently we have had a change of heart. We tried several different churches and our girls love the "Friends Church, Evangelist" and they go all the time. They are teens and enjoy having a choice in religion. But we just can't get into it. The who situation seems so confusing that we just have not gone to church. In the meantime part of me does not want to have a relationship with Christ and I don't know why and part of me does. We have three girls and I am pregnant with another child. I want to bring this child up in a Christian home, but I am having a hard time. All of the reasons that I want a relationship with Christ seem selfish. I want a piece of heaven, I want to see my father again and I don't want to go to hell. How to I change my perspective and build a relationship with Christ for all the right reasons?

For me, I wish I could have been there when the African country of the Gold Coast gained its freedom from Great Britian, at midnight changing its name to Ghana. March 6, 1957. I understand that when the British flag was lowered and Ghana's new flag went up, there was dancing in the streets. The people rejoiced together, 'White' and 'Black', dancing and rejoicing together. Must have been like Heaven.

i'm not depressed, i'm not thinking of suicide, i'm not feeling i'm meaningless, i'm not anything else that you can think of that would be a serious responce to this question. people take things too seriously... i'm just wondering if i didn't affect someone so much adversely that they didn't show an ironic emotion at the thought of my death, did i really make that much of a difference? because of course people will be sad. if anyone dies anyone will be sad. even if you didn't know me its just kinda saddening. but if i affected someone enough for them to laugh i'll know i made a difference. so i guess the question is, if you chose to accept it, moo?

Has anyone "experienced " inorganic beings (the sort Carlos Castaneda discusses) in their dreams, or in that semi-conscious state when drifting off to sleep? Call me crazy, I don't care, but I think I've been being harassed by one for at least 10 years now. The encounters have been very infrequent (probably 5 times at most), but terribly frightening.
So I'm simply curious as to whether or not anybody else knows what I'm talking about. BTW, this is a 'watery' one.

I'm American. My husband is Mexican. I really love the Mexican culture and I want to include both countries ideas into our marriage. We live in the US which can cause problems for following the Mexican culture...example: it is acceptable that a guy and a girl kiss eachother on the cheek if friends...cousins..etc. but maybe if my aunt or my friend saw him doing that..they might think he was cheating on me. I want to include both cultures (and I don't mind looking not following the norms..) but how should we decide which culture to follow and when??? Any ideas... suggestions...anything?

If the Prodigal Son's a parable, and if Adam and Eve are metaphors, then maybe God is just figure of speech.

they both have similar stories and must take blind faith to believe in. They both use miracles and magic to prove they're real.

Why does God hate gay people? I read in the Bible that God killed them with fire that fell from the sky. Does everyone who believes in God think gay people will burn in hell for all eternity?

I was raised in a christian household. But I was just wondering...Here's my reasoning:
1.God said were are nothin but dirt, and sinners who can never be as perfect as he is. But at the same time he wants us to worship him. If were are just mere humans, why does he want us to praise him.
2.Death isn't such a big deal to him, but to us losing some1 we love is devasting. But he values praising him more than death.
4.If he is all knowing, why didn't he do anything to stop Adam&Eve. (PLZ DONT SAY FREEWILL, cuz ultimaly it's not freewill)He knew it was gonna happen, so does that mean he ultimatly wanted us to feel pain, so he can again get PRAISES?
5.Think about this:
Step 1:Humans sin
Step 2: He punishes us.
Step 3: But no, wait God sends his son to die so God wouldn't have to punish us.(hunh? Honestly does that make sense)

Plz offer clarification, I wanna understand and live a Christian life, but my recent trubles have left me with many questions? IS IT ALL ABOUT PRAISES?
