A co-worker's spouse has recently passed. Both my co-worker and his wife observed the Jewish faith. I am wanting to send a card, but it is nearly impossible to find one around my area. I am making one.

My biggest concern is that, since I know very very little of Judaism, what is an appropriate message? Is there anything (other than the name of G-d) that shoudl absolutely not be in there? Would an appropriate scripture verse from the Old Testament be appropriate?

Thanks!

What do you think the Christian church could do to change that? If anything.

It's called Kumi Ori, it was written by a Messianic Jew named Batya Segal.
"arise, shine, the light has come; the glory of the Lord has risen upon you."

I had it on CD some years ago, but can't find it again. I've searched Napster, and pretty much the whole internet, to no avail. Can anyone help me?

What I mean is not 'why the Jews' but 'why blame'.

I mean, wasn't Jesus's crucifixion part of the big plan? Didn't he go willingly? Isn't it because Jesus was crucified that believers are saved?

Why don't Christians get down on their knees and thank the Jews of that era for playing a crucial role in their own personal salvations?

P.S. and Judas too.

I turn 50 on December 21. I've never had a major party about myself: never married so no wedding, never pregnant so no baby shower, and my graduation celebrations were very small. So I want to have a Cincuentanera, which would be the 50-year-old's equivalent of a Quinceanera (or Quincenera), the big party which a Latina girl has on her 15th birthday.

I'd like suggestions: themes, dress styles (girlish or matronly), quinceanera traditions adapted for the 50-year-old, and so forth. I might also be a Quinceanera/Cincuentanera for Halloween, which is before my birthday. So, what are your ideas? Also, since my birthday is so close to Christmas, should I postpone the party till early or mid-January?

Do you think its fair that sometimes you have to watch a film with a person doing sign language fo the deaf? Surely there should be a button that turns them off. I end up watching them instead of the film.

Why do people of "Faith" want to say things like "Man walked with the Dinosaurs"?

I for one would be extremely upset at my Faith if they attacked Science with nonsense. I know many Christians that feel the same way. They feel that these guys are going too far and making all Christians look like fools. But I'm sure there are purists out there that would differ.
