Do you think its fair that sometimes you have to watch a film with a person doing sign language fo the deaf? Surely there should be a button that turns them off. I end up watching them instead of the film.

Yeah, there should be a button, and also one for subtitles, as subtitles miss out half the dialogue anyway. Nice background by the way

If it is on dvd, then you do not get sign language which i think is pretty bad, as my son is deaf and we are involved alot with the deaf community, try renting the film, but usually only sign language interpreters appear later on at night at tv, which is probably when your watching it, but its a good idea to watch the interpreters as it teaches you the language and you will be able to communicate with the deaf community at some point and maybe even one day you might need too, deaf people have feelings too.

Distraction is a hard thing to get past. My parents were deaf there whole life where I can hear, so sign language is a part of life for me.

Maybe you could sit somewhere (in front of them) where you cant see the distraction. Just a suggestion.

Very Fair!! Only a very few screenings of a film have sign laguage applied. I guess you'll just have to wait for them to re-broadcast the movie without the signing if you really object to it.

No. I hate that too. I'm sure handicapped advocates will call me rude and insensitive, but it's annoying and I don't want to see it. There's closed captioning, that should be enough.

And I have NO interest in learning sign language.
