I love living in a big city but with the crowds everywhere, I find myself being frustrated at the lack of gentleness in public places. People bump into each other, honk at each other, talk loudly, don't say thanks or hello, etc. You go shooping in certain places and it's a stampede, it's almost dangerous to get trampled. Don't you think it should be considered a serious social issue since it truly affects our lives on a daily basis?

I try to be nice to others but I'm not perfect either. I just wish we could get along a bit better for everyone's benefit.

Why is it that people assume they are blessed? For instance, you'll hear artists or athletes or whoever claim that God has blessed them with some talent. Why them and not us? Are we to be in awe of their talent that God deemed they were more worthy of it than you or I? Is it some ego thing or does God like to play favorites? Never understod this mentality, any thoughts?

There are three ways of seeing life. In one people stick fast. In another they go to excess. In the third they see correctly.

In the first way, people take pleasure in all the things of life--in possessions and happenings, in families and continuation. When a teaching is proclaimed that advises nonattachment and going beyond the dictates of the self, their heart does not leap up and they are not drawn to it. In the second way, people are afflicted by hatred of life. Just as attached to life, they nonetheless revile it and make a bad thing of it to excess.

In the third way, people see life as it is--forever being and ceasing to be. They accept it willingly but are not attached and do not despair. It is they who begin to know the unconditioned.

Seriously, if you don't believe in God or Jesus or whatever, then go about your damn business and let people live and believe what they wish.

You all sound just as worse, if not worse, than religious individuals with your condescending tone and rude comments.

Who really gives a *** if you don't believe in God. I'm not going to lose a bit of sleep over it. I don't give a rat's azz what/who you believe in just don't denounce what the hell I believe.

You're all so quick to call out Christians but you are the ones that post a million postings attacking people for their religious beliefs.

Who are the real Nazis?

think about it....

Seems to be two Gods, one God on high in the heavens, one God higher than the heavens in heaven. And it seems to be a fearful thing to "fall", from grace, to the God on high in the heavens. For the God(Majesty) on high in plural heavens, namely Jehovah, seems to have law (the law of God), and law worketh wrath, which God hath not appointed us unto; Whereas the higher God in heaven is on a "throne of grace", so namely Grace, where only mercy is obtain-able, and for all, since there is no respect of persons with God.

So, indeed the name of God is Jehovah, but this is the God on high, in the heavens; not the higher God in heaven: higher than the heavens. And of dead/living Gods, Grace is the living God. Of false/true Gods, Grace is the only true God. Of foolish/wise Gods, Grace is the only wise God. Of this/that Gods, Grace is that God. Of high/higher Gods, the God of all grace is higher, the higher power.

a question for religious and non-religious alike.

What function do they serve?

How do they make people happy?

If they make the individual believer happy, do they make society in general happier?

Are there viable alternatives?

well some guy asked if some countires in eroupe was cooler than the US

that had me thinking.

Im not exatly up on much international affairs since the mainstream new stations always talk about the middle east. ( i personally would like to hear about japan since i find that country most interesting)

But why do so many people hate the united states so much. I think its the leader of that country you should hate, becasue the americans dont make the decisions.

I dont think many americans are brainwashed to belive that we are the best country and the world revolves around us.

i would just like to hear what are your reasons for not liking us so much.

Ok have a great day!
