Many of ye claim to have found the Christ, yet fail to show others proof through thy deeds. Once ye have truly found Christ, thou dost find naught but Evil practicing within Churches.
Could it be, that thou doth want Gods favor so much, ye only think or pretend ye have entered Christ?
Churches will not give thee access to Christ, it be found only within thyself.
Jesus was but a man and messenger. Christ is an enlightenment to thy state of being.

A nonbeliever recently justified his/her rebuttal of Christianity on these boards by saying "It is the moral responsibility and ethical duty of rational people to protect vulnerable minds from being contaminated by Bronze Age myths and willful ignorance."

I ask this question sincerely. If you are not a moral relativist, from where do your morals come from? How do you, personally, determine your daily actions?

If I work at a casino, is that morally wrong? Am I supporting the devil? Or are casinos not wrong, only the people who abuse them by gambling over their head?

I don't mean this to sound rude. and if it does, I apologize in advance. But, seriously, why do you feel the need to tell everyone else they are wrong? If you're right.. you wouldn't need to convince me of it.. I would already know. And the whole, trying to save other's souls thing, I get... but if you're only trying to do something that is for the good of the other person involved, why do you get upset when they debate the issue with you?

And, really, what's up with the guys passing out stuff in downtown? Do they think that works? Are they trying to buy their way into heaven?

And I understand that Christianity 'works' for you.. why can't you understand that it doesn't for me?

maybe im paranoid but there seems to be a growing problem here.

Christian 'Dominionists' (Reconstructionalists, theonomists) have largely usurped the local level political apparatus of the Republican Party, and are engaged in a sub rosa process to politically motivate moderate Christians under the false cover of religious issues such as morality and family values. The goal is nothing less than the takeover of all elective offices in the USA.

Their doctrine comes from the Bible, starting with the term 'dominion' at Genesis 1:28... “And God said unto them, [Adam and Eve] Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have DOMINION… over every living thing.” They interpret DOMINION as: “... a supremacy in determining and directing the actions of others or in governing politically, socially, or personally.”

They want to remake the USA as a theocracy... and they are succeeding.

Its most common form, Dominionism, represents one of the most extreme forms of Fundamentalist Christianity thought. Its followers, called Dominionists, are attempting to convert the laws of United States so that they match those of the Hebrew Scriptures. They intend to achieve this by using the freedom of religion in the US to train a generation of children via home-schooling and in private Christian religious schools. Later, their graduates will be charged with the responsibility of creating a new Bible-based political, religious and social order. One of the first tasks of this order will be to eliminate religious choice and freedom. Their eventual goal is to achieve the "Kingdom of God" in which much of the world is converted to Christianity. They feel that the power of God's word will bring about this conversion. No armed force or insurrection will be needed; in fact, they believe that there will be little opposition to their plan. People will willingly accept it. All that needs to be done is to properly explain it to them.

All religious organizations, congregations etc. other than strictly Fundamentalist Christianity would be suppressed. Nonconforming Evangelical, main line and liberal Christian religious institutions would no longer be allowed to hold services, organize, proselytize, etc. Society would revert to the laws and punishments of the Hebrew Scriptures. Any person who advocated or practiced other religious beliefs outside of their home would be tried for idolatry and executed. Blasphemy, adultery and homosexual behavior would be criminalized; those found guilty would also be executed. There are two conservative Christian pastors in Texas who have advocated the execution of all Wiccans. Ralph Reed, the executive director of the conservative public policy group the Christian Coalition has criticized Reconstructionism as "an authoritarian ideology that threatens the most basic civil liberties of a free and democratic society."

Wake up. Take a stand. Do something. By allowing this insidious agenda to progress, we are sowing the seeds of our own destruction, while these religious nut-jobs are paving the way to Armageddon with gleeful anticipation.

I believe that going by what you see in a particular religion, not just it's teachings alone testifies to whether it's the true religion or not. A prophecy from Jesus harmonizes with this statement.

"Likewise every good tree produces fine fruit, but every rotten tree produces worthless fruit; a good tree cannot bear worthless fruit, neither can a rotten tree produce fine fruit. Every tree not producing fine fruit gets cut down and thrown into the fire. Really, then, by their fruits you will recognize those [men]. Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness."-Matthew 7:17-23

If the Holy Spirit were real, wouldn't those who believe in Jesus and be given the Holy Spirit be able to interpret the Bible the same way?

If not, and they interpret it differently, and there are different denominations with different doctrines, what does this mean?

1. That some denominations aren't with the Holy Spirit and therefor not interpreting correctly.

If 1 is true, how do I know which denomination is correct.

2. The Holy Spirit is real, and its ok to have differences of doctrine, the Holy Spirit has allowed multiple beliefs that lead to heaven.

If 2 is true, what are the core believes one needs to be a Christian.

3. There is no Holy SPirit that enters peoples soul/mind to help interpret the Bible.
