If you like living in a city, I'd recommend Toronto. It has good public transportation, many different cultures (so, lots of interesting restaurants!), it's clean, and progressive. I have relatives there, and I love visiting Toronto.
If you want to live in a rural area, then it depends what kind of land you like... Canada has everything from mountains to prairies, to woodlands to sea coast! It's a huge country. Property is cheaper in the Maritime provinces (east coast) but wages are lower there, too.

Probably closer to people of your nationality. Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver are the most immigrant-filled. Montreal is very bilingual, Toronto is very Anglophone and Vancouver is anglophone as well but it is much much warmer than the other two cities in the Winter. Mind you, it is easier for you to get immigration to a part of the country with fewer immigrants like Winnipeg or Moncton.

I was originally from Southern Alberta, if you don't mind doing alot of agriculturally related jobs, it a nice place to live
