well some guy asked if some countires in eroupe was cooler than the US
that had me thinking.
Im not exatly up on much international affairs since the mainstream new stations always talk about the middle east. ( i personally would like to hear about japan since i find that country most interesting)
But why do so many people hate the united states so much. I think its the leader of that country you should hate, becasue the americans dont make the decisions.
I dont think many americans are brainwashed to belive that we are the best country and the world revolves around us.
i would just like to hear what are your reasons for not liking us so much.
Ok have a great day!

I think 'jealousy' is the wrong word ... 'hostility' would do better!
Yes, lots of us hate Bush ... but we get really pi$$ed off at the way so many Americans support him through thick and thin! One word against the Shrub and they start getting angry and calling us racist or 'anti-democracy' ... these people don't even know what democracy IS, only the American version...! If we suggest that it was a WAR-CRIME for Bush to invade Iraq (which is true,) they start saying that we support terrorists!!
These people STILL insist that Bush was right to invade Iraq - and when asked WHY, they say either "Iraq had WMD!" or "Iraq was responsible for 9/11!" BOTH of which are totally false, and have been proven so time and time again...!!
These are the same people who think Israel's war-crimes are acceptable - but the war-crimes of Hezbollah AREN'T! Blinkered hypocrites the lot of them!
Those are the Americans that we direct our hostility towards - not sensible, well-read people with a knowledge of world facts! Only the morons who think that the president of the USA is omnipotent ... is GOD!!
You have a great day too...!

You know for the most part I do rant about the US and I have to apologize. You are right it is not the people. Well not ALL the people. I work in the tourist industry and I meet the good, bad and ugly from many countries but I have to say the bad Americans really stick out. They have this way about them that conveys that they think I am their servant and so much beneath them. But that is definitely not all of them because some of the best tourists I've met are from USA. I think mostly it is the government and their lack of fair foreign policy. Plus the whole NAFTA thing is hard on Canada and Mexico. The US just has too much power and can bend anything in their favour. And then there is that whole Iraq thing but at this point arguing about it is pretty useless.
Anyway sorry from one person who has the tendency to act like a USA hater. It's my moments of ignorance that get the better of me. I know your guys are not all megalomaniacs like your president.
Peace,
Someone in Canada

First of all I wanted to say that I'm from a South-American country and personally don't hold any grudge nor feel any sort of envy against Americans or whatsoever. The thing with America (or, better said, Americans) is the whole 'I'm so much better than you' attitude that pisses me off. If you take a look at some European countries they have much better economics administration and political affairs experience with far exceeding results than Americans. UK, for example, has a more competitive and powerful market than USA and the European Union. I strongly believe that the difference with these nations is the attitude. I've worked almost a year in tourism and two and half months at an American call center and I've lost the account of the number of people that I've spoke so high and were incredible proud of the way their governors manage the country. I did pitied them because most of them didn't even know the main goal of the politic campaign or the orientation of the party they were supporting and still agreed wholeheartedly and willingly to give that immense amount of power to somebody that didn't understand nor care of their needs. It's like they agree because ‘it's American and have to be the best’ that makes the Americans look shallow. We, the Argentineans, don't have so much examples to set when comes to politics but the thing we know the most is about the acts of manipulation made of politicians and it is something we working our *** out to change. We don't believe that we're a God gift to the rest of the world and don't eat everything they put in our plate like the Americans tend to do or want the rest of the world to think of them.
To sum up, I don't hate the Americans per se, the thing that irritates me is that over inflated ego that they tend to show off when speaking with somebody who's not Yankee, specially with Latin-Americans or middle Asians. It’s not envy, for crying out loud, because I have nothing to envy you guys for. And I believe the fact that 'You sould hate the leader not the people' is showing the lack of knowledge about who governs who, the mayority or some guys you have elected themselves to speak and choose for you. Principle of republic and democracy, isn't it?
Sorry about the English, by the way, it's my second language. If you don't understand something feel free to ask and I will do my best trying to explain it :)

I am an American. I however do see many faults in our country. We are portrayed as rednecks for one. Our education is flawed in many ways, as is proudly displayed in your question (it's spelled "sense" not "sence", that's not even a word). Our president is a rootin' tootin' moron, who apparently eats with his mouth open in front of the British prime minister while using obscenities. A lot of Americans are brainwashed into thinking our country is far superior. I know many people who wouldn't even consider traveling outside of the country as they think we are so far superior. I know a few countries that would be jealous of our freedom of speech, guaranteed minimum wage, and social support (i.e. welfare) but most countries citizens could probably do without us. I don't think I sense any jealousy from most European nations. Sorry.
