What would you think of a person born blind who refuses to believe that stars exist? You can see them, and can explain their properties, but the person just refuses to believe that the universe is so expansive and filled with so many stars and thinks you are cracked.

There are certain verses some people feel that ban women from holding positions in the church, but that is not true.

"Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law" (1 Corinthians 14:34).

"Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence" (1 Timothy 2:11-12).

Now here is the interpretation of these verses:
In these verses, Paul is not addressing women who were in the ministry, but rather those in the congregation who were out of order. There are so many proofs, many from Paul himself. Here is a partial list of women who were all in influential positions of leadership in the early church.

This one is for you Christian Pro-Lifers; What's so wrong with abortion if you believe in an afterlife?

If a child is aborted as an embryo and this truely is a life, wouldn't it be a purely innocent life? It wouldn't even have entered the world, wouldn't have to experience pain, and most importantly would not have the opportunity to sin. If your God is truly just and loving why would he apply original sin to a being who hasn't even had one concious thought? This could extend to cover embryos used for stem cells.

If God were really merciful, then no one would be eternally punished. If hell is really full of pain and toture and stuff, then at some point, every soul will repent and want to go live with God.

I suspect this is the reason Catholics invented the concept of Purgatory.

It's not a natural thing to be homosexual, there's no use in it, it doesn't prolong the race therefore it has to be a "miscoding" in the genetic make up.

Evolution and natural selection don't satisfy me. İt can't be a tactic because spider isn't that smart. İt is a very smart move, not like the other examples of natural selection. ( The butterflies which have the colour of trees or leaves survive and this speciality passes to their babies etc...) Who gave this instinct to the spider?

I have a very good female friend who has low self esteem. I tell her all the time that I think she is very attractive and if I was single (I am happily married) I would love to have a more intimate relationship with her. As it is, she has 4 men pursuing her. Yet she asked me today what she needs to do to make herself more attractive. Why is it that women, even attractive ones, have such low self esteem?

I have a friend who always get her way not matter what. She chooses the movies, the resteraunts we eat at, what stores and where we are going shopping at. I just do not speak up because I'm shy. Also, we took a Jazz Dance class over the summer, she was more experienced than me she took dance since elementary school. This was the first dance class I taken before. So, I assumed she would help me with the dance. However, she did not and then at the end of the class she asked me what grade I will
get in that class. I told her I'm hoping for a ''B''. Then, she said '' but, you did not know any of the dances''. As a result I got a ''C'' in the class. So, I know she is self involved. But, what do you do with a friend who simply gets her way all the time? What do you do with a friend who should of helped you with a class but, was too wrapped into herself to do so? What do you do with friends like that?

as it mentioned in this verse in the Quran, that David and Jesus cursed those who have disbelieved from the children of Israel.

Quran 5:78
[78] Those among the Children of Israel who disbelieved were cursed by the tongue of Dâwûd (David) and 'Isâ (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary). That was because they disobeyed (Allâh and the Messengers) and were ever transgressing beyond bounds.

is there anything similar to this in the New testimony?

I was walking out of the store last night this guy asked me to sign a Petition in regards to Gay Marriage. My response Not my world. Not My Fight. Not my problem. Good luck. He says Given your history as a black man you should really be in our corner. It irratated me a lil, Slavery and genocide doens't compare to Gays not have political favor. I know that some gay people are beat up or killed but there is a law, Hate Crime and you go to jail for a long A** time if your convicted of this, there was no such thing as a hate crime when my great grand daddy was a kid. I don't walk around with slavery on my mind every day (he brought it up). For this guy to say something like that was rude and insulting. What every race fought for in this country doens't compare to Gay people trying to catch a tax break and to be tolerated. I don't hate yall but I don't care either it's not my problem or my business. Why would you tell me that given my history I would sympathise with your plight?

I thought we were on the same page and with the problems going on in the middle east I find he is on the opposite side of the situation than I am. I am willing to listen to his beliefs and agree to disagree. We have our daughter in Christian school and he knows what I believe to be true but he is being very condisending ans saying only 10% of the Bible is historically accurate. We have talked before and he beleives in God but now he has done a 360. Confused and need advise.
