This one is for you Christian Pro-Lifers; What's so wrong with abortion if you believe in an afterlife?

If a child is aborted as an embryo and this truely is a life, wouldn't it be a purely innocent life? It wouldn't even have entered the world, wouldn't have to experience pain, and most importantly would not have the opportunity to sin. If your God is truly just and loving why would he apply original sin to a being who hasn't even had one concious thought? This could extend to cover embryos used for stem cells.

I kinda agree with you. Maybe abortion is something I would personally never consider, because I think it's wrong, but it doesn't mean that others see nothing wrong with it. Who am I to decide that no one else can do what I deem wrong??

Maybe you are right and a child who is aborted would not be guilty of the things we do today, but what if the life that was taken was a life that was meant to do good things. No one can determine what will happen but shouldn't the baby be able to grow and make his own decisions just as you have done?
No matter how you look at it, you can make it sound like a good idea or a bad one, but it still doesn't rule out the fact that it is murder.
Fully developed or not it is a life in progress. There are other options that can be decided upon other than abortion.
Most of the time the couple only looks at how much they aren't ready for this but that's a little selfish being that the world and the baby might be ready.
One more thing, peoples actions result in pregnancy. So tell me, if people are worried about why God would bring a baby into a horrible place like this world, then why do people give it a chance to happen?

So you figure since the baby will go to heaven, it's okay to murder it? That's some weird logic you've got there. So basically, it would be okay, if for example, you were a good christian, and somebody murdered you, cause you'd go to heaven? Apparently, the "thou shalt not murder" part is over your head, so maybe the "me" thing would actually get thru. Do you have any clue how many people can't have babies, and are waiting years to adopt? Do you have any idea how much love that "inconvenience" would have? What you see as an inconvenience is a child. I'm sorry you think its too darn hard to remember to take birth control, use condoms or to abstain. I'm sorry you think its "easier" to just get rid of the nuisance than to give it up to parents who would truly love it. I guess I'm just sorry you're so self-centered that you actually think the world should revolve around you, and that nothing else matters.

Umm okay ur weird, yes the soul will be 'clean' as u say, but living life is such a wonderful thing. this poor thing will never feel love, hope, joy, sorrow,pain...all the things that make life an adventure and wonderful experience. the poor thing will never have a chance at it for all u know one of the babies aborted might have grown up to be the doctor who finds the cure for cancer or such. and it's not fair that this little person will never have a chance because of the mistake their mother made. i think abortion is wrong becuz, i mean these ladies made a mistake, and now they don't want to deal with the consequence? no, mister it doesn't work that way...well it is not supposed to....having abortions its like telling the people 'don't worry about it, live a crazy life, we can fix it if something goes wrong' people have to learn how to deal with things and be responsible. i'm not against it being legal, i mean i wish it were but i guess people do have their choice...i just wish they didn't choose it.

since you discussed original sin, i would assume you have some religious background.

god is just and loving. however, the original sin of Adam is a part of mankind. All have sinned. Adam caused our downfall, and Jesus, the 2nd Adam, represents our salvation.

You seem to focus your question on the aborted fetus and not the wrongdoer, the abotionist, or the woman having the abortion. There are natural and spiritual consequences to our choices. What's wrong with abortion? It takes life. Mankind was never given the moral right to take life into his own hands. God is the giver and taker of life. When we decide to control life and death, we place ourselves in a role that only god has. we attempt to change our nature from a created being, to the creator being.

this change of mankind's role has implications in stem cell research, abortion, mercy killing, suicide, etc.

Your argument makes no sense.

Every life created has the right to live a normal, happy life. You're talking as if abortion is like a mercy-killing, saving that child from all the pain and suffering that we endure. If that were the case, then why not stop having kids altogether and abort the entire planet?

Abortion is wrong because it is murder. No one has the right to take a life like that. Every person created has the right to life.

There is nothing wrong with abortion, assuming it is done by a qualified medical doctor and as long as the procedure is done in accordance to any applicable laws.

Speaking of laws on abortion.... No man, and for that matter no court should ever tell a woman what to do with her own body.

No court would tell a woman how many children she could have...
No court would set a limit on the amount of children she could have

Why should the courts even be involved in this in the first place?

The far right / pro life crowd bases their anti abortion beliefs on their religion. The law of the US includes tens of millions non Christians who may or not may subscribe to their beliefs. Law for the masses should not be based on any religious beliefs.

If you see nothing wrong with the taking of an innocent human life, I'm not sure any answer will suffice for you.

And for the benefit of imahilarmy, human life starts as a SINGLE cell. By the time you know you are pregnant and can get to the abortionist, the child is developed enough to have fingerprints.

Abortion is MURDER in the Second Degree.
Premeditated. I really don't care what the circumstances are;
Be it rape, or simply convenience.

Abortion is now being used in place of contraceptives in some, I really think in many, cases.

I would TRULY like to know why we can not just simply OWN UP TO THE FACT that it is now POLITICALLY CORRECT to allow MURDER, second degree, in some cases.

Theologically it certainly is NOT allowed - but even in our secular and twisted world WE DO NOT AND CAN NOT FACE UP TO THE TRUTH!

((The Unborn, and Born infants, do not go to Hell because of Original Sin. They, like idiots, etc. are UNABLE to make a choice and therefor go directly to HEAVEN.......they are not retreaded in to angel either.. that is an ancient Cult error.))

The fact the embryo did not have an opportunity to develop, be born, experience some modicum of existence and maybe end up answering you why it is better to be alive than to be killed, usually for the high crime of being an unwanted after effect of unprotected sex.

agreed. aside from the fact that an embryo is only about 150 cells and not developed enough to be alive in the first place.
