Did they research which brand of shoe left the footprint?

the bible says in genesis that the ark (converted from cubits to feet) was approximately fifty feet tall, eighty feet wide, and five hundred feet long. Also, if seven of some animals (such as cattle or foul) were brought onto the ark, and only two of others, how do we account for the theory that dinosaurs were also on the ark? How did they all fit? How did Noah get foreign animals to "come to him" as it says in the bible (if they came, how did they cross oceans)... such as pandas, kangaroos, possums, etc. ALso, what about the inbreeding? THe animals (AND the humans) would be massively retarded and their genetic chains would weaken considerably. How can we go from eight humans to 5.7 BILLION people in less than 6,000 years?

Or are you sure that theists are wrong..?
Or don't you worry because even if the religions are true, you won't be punished given the fact that there is no definite proof of God's existence and because you already live a decent life and you think that's the only important thing..?

That is, assuming there is a God. I claim to know nothing about God. Show me the evidence. And do not claim the physical laws are God's laws. Talk is cheap. Wishful thinking is something anyone can do.

many of the problems in africa are due to sectarian tendences in dealing with our fellow countrymen. sectarianism includes being tribalistic, nepotism, religious fevouritism, gender bias in the allocation of oportunities and resources... i therefore want to know how I can be religious, without being sectarian.

If evil cannot exist in the presence of God and God is omnipresent then evil cannot exist.
Or if evil exists, then God does not exist.
So either :
1. There is no evil, or
2. There is no omnipresent God

which is it?

Is it blasphemous to claim that she is a long lost great great ...granddaughter? But what if her book backs up Jeses stories? Then what would you think?

ok satan worshippers you worship satan yeah, that means you know god exists but you go against him. satans mission is take as many to hell with him.

so you know what is wrong but you will still not accept right. is it because you choose to beleive something (devil) and not turn from it, even if you know it does not make sense and god has promised heaven for every beleiver.

so would a beleiver turn from his beleives when he discovers a religion with no contradictions ? or does he stay defiant and chooses to ignore and accepts his stay in hell forever?

People seem to get all upset that the world might only be around 5 thousand years old because of carbon dating, etc... but if you were God and you created the world in six days about 5000 years ago, how would you make a rock look? What would a rock look like a second old? A day old? How old is a rock suppose to look that God just created?

Mother Theresa was a devout Catholic.
She had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Knowing the above, and knowing how she lived her life, do you think she is in Heaven right now? Why or why not?

Under Communism in the former Soviet Union and China, atheists tried to force everyone to their way of thinking. So much for atheism respecting other beliefs. In the few countries where atheists had too much power, they can be just as bad, as with Stalin and Mao. And all the extreme liberal atheists in the U.S. are always going on about how Communism is the solution to everything. Apparently, atheists can be just as guillable and ignorant as religious folk, or they would have known why the Soviet Union collapsed and Karl Marx was an impractical idealist.

Have you lost a loved one? If so, tell us who, and what you would like to say to them if you could.

I've been pretty lucky - haven't lost many. It would be nice to see my Dad again and let him know how much I have become like him, even though I swore I never would! LOL

the book called 'the god part of the brain' lays out the idea that self consciousness can bring with it the fear of death

this is something unique to the human species

if you want, read 'the premise', an intro to the book, here:

http://www.godpart.com/html/body_the_premise.html
The Premise

basically, it says how religious belief and the belief in an all powerful, all good and all knowing god who looks after one's welfare comes out of the need for a coping mechanism for the stress of being confronted with one's mortality, due to being self-conscious.

so if we stopped wanting to be immortal, like we felt BEFORE we became self-conscious (if i'm getting The Premise right...) AND we develop better ways of thinking about the threat of death and failure, then will Faith evaporate?

will people's willingness to sacrifice so much, and so many lives, and the peace of the planet in the name of religion disappear when this stage of mental development is attained?
