many of the problems in africa are due to sectarian tendences in dealing with our fellow countrymen. sectarianism includes being tribalistic, nepotism, religious fevouritism, gender bias in the allocation of oportunities and resources... i therefore want to know how I can be religious, without being sectarian.

Believe everything without critical examination. That way you don't disagree with anyone, ever.

Religion is the most cunning way to keep any one away from truth. Sectarianism is a further high level of same cunning tactics of the same power that controls the people.

Try to get away from religion and sectarianism and know your own self and start the life spiritually. That will make a difference.

Sectarianism is a natural human response to the environment in which you live or choose to live. You follow the social traits of your friends and peers. People who do not fall into the same social group or religion as yours will always be viewed with at best suspicion or worst hatred. The only way to change your position is to move to a more liberal social circle/group. Religion is often used by people in control of a group to sway their people into doing as they bid and if they have in-build hatred or are corrupt you all get pulled into their way of thinking.
Get out and live as you think life should be lead.

You CANNOT if you belong to the wrong religion.
You CAN if you belong to the right church established by God Himself,
in this church there are only two commandments that summed up all commandments, these are to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind , soul and strength, the second is like it , to love your neighbor as you love yourself", I believe in this commandment there is no place for sectarian prejudice, nor favoritism or bias. In this church everyone has to admit they are sinners and deserves punishment in hell and everyone needs to ask for God's forgiveness and grace given through Jesus Christ, hence no one is considered more than any other, because we are all just recepients of the free Grace of God through Jesus Christ.

Any questions let me know...

Don't just be religious, find the truth. If youve got email id love to talk to you.

Im a christian. I follow the bible, as I read it, and not how anyone tells me to. I do what the bible says is right, and thus avoid the 'sectarian' conflict.

Again, religion for religion's sake is useless. Find the Truth.

You can't, you can be 'spiritual' without being sectarian. Religion, by definition, involves a certain set of rituals or beliefs. Spirituality let's you flow more. Or you can be a freethinker and be done with the whole mess.

Start reading your Bible and stop relying on others to fill you with what the content is. That makes it real simple to not belong to a certain sect or religion. Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance through the Word and for answers.

You should be neither religious nor sectarian. Both miss the point and are false. You should love Jesus and follow Him.

Or if exposing your faith would cause another to be indanger... then keep it in your heart... If you are of The Church of which Christ Jesus is The Head... then do your best to follow as you feel God is leading you... you need to continue to live in the mortal world and o what youneed to do to survive... but always keeping god's commandments as best you can...
