I'm agnostic.
Yes, love is a proven state of mentality. Some people experience it, some people don't.
As quoted:
Types
Courtly love – a late medieval conventionalized code prescribing certain conduct and emotions for ladies and their lovers
Erotic love – desire characterized by sexual desires
Familial love – affection brokered through kinship connections, intertwined with concepts of attachment and bonding
Free love – sexual relations according to choice and unrestricted by marriage
Platonic love – a close relationship in which sexual desire is nonexistent or has been suppressed or sublimated
Puppy love – romantic affection that is not "mature" or not "true." The term reflects a bias that love between youngsters is somehow less valid.
Religious love – devotion to one's deity or theology
Romantic love – affection characterized by a mix of emotional and sexual desire
True love - love without condition, motive or attachment. Simply loving someone for the sake of loving them
Unrequited love – affection and desire not reciprocated or returned

Religion - born and raised as Roman Catholic. Non-practicing for about 40 years now.
Love - believe very much in it. Am very much in love at present with a lady who is to become my wife on March 20, 2007. This woman has taught me more than I learned of this subject over previous 48 years of living experience. Love they say shall conquer all. While this may be a bit of an overstatement Love is capable of turning people's lives, views, wishes and dreams around.

Well, I definitely beleive in love. But I can't really say what my religion is because I don't really have one. My family is Presbyterian (sp?) but I don't agree with everything that comes with that religion. I believe in a higher power, but who or what it is....I'm not sure. As for love though, I certainly beleive in it because I love my family and my daughter and my friends and it's a special feeling that can't compare with any other.

I definately believe in love. Not the lustful fuzzy feeling many think of as love. The love I believe in is the love God has for us by sending his only begotten Son to earth to suffer, die, be burried and rise again to be the propitiation
for our seperation/sin from God.
In short ..love is putting another persons needs before our own.

I am Lutheran-Christan but I don't think it really matters of the religion you're in....it matters what you feel...my answer is yes...I believe in love...in fact...I'm going on to the 8th grade and I still have my boyfriend of the beginning of 7th...we love each other very much...plus...if someone DIDN'T believe in love...how could they possibly love their family?

Yes I believe in love and it's ironic that people of all religious backgrounds believe in it too. Some would agree that God is Love and if God is the epitome of Love, then what does that tell you?

No. I do not "believe" in love. I know love exists as a human emotion. It can be operationally defined, then observed. Thus, I don't have to use the baseless mental abberation of "belief" rather I can know.

ok, well i am n athiest and yes i do belive in it. i belive in it as a mental addiction (and (in this case) regrettably have gone through it)
(there are many studies to back this up, if a couple thinks they are in love, the feeling comes from the same place that an addiction would show up at)
