Don't get me wrong I'm not saying ALL non-Christians think we are stupid or dumb, but there is a large group that does. Christians are not stupid. I've been a Christian all my life and I have an IQ of 133, that means saying I'm highly intelligent is an understatement. So why do say we're stupid? I just don't get it.

My sister showed me an article not long ago that mentioned some woman having a child at 52. We thought it was outrageously unfair to the poor kid, almost certain to become an orphan. I'd like to know what the readership here thinks.

Or is Free Will an illusion, custom-made for all of us limited beings, after all? ... In other words, is it a complementary notion to justify, balance and supplement one's actions, faith and powers of imagination?

P.S. I am NOT trying to be confrontational, nor offensive to anyone. … I am merely asking a logical question and would appreciate your sincere responses.

As I see sectarian violence spiral out of control in Iraq, I think again: can there be any answer to human violence but a total commitment to forgive our enemies, no matter what they have done to us?

My friend claims to be homophobic. Only he's not afraid of lesbians. Should a true homophobic be afraid of all homosexuals no matter their gender? I feel he's not really homophobic but more like he's prejudiced towards homosexual men. What do you think?

I know that beside the words from bible there are a lot of interpretations, and i mean A LOT. Are those interpretations another words from god? Look at Jews, when they read the Torah, they just read it without any interpretation. Why can't christians do the same?
And about bible "accuracy", there cannot be any accuracy in bible since it was written, rewritten, translated, retranslated, interpreted and reinterpreted. You never get the accuracy in any translation from a language to another.

According to many polls, about 85% of Americans claim to be Christians. However, it stands to reason that not everyone who says they are a Christian are truely saved.

I'm curious... Based on your understanding of the Bible, about what portion of these people will actually spend eternity with God in Heaven?

they've known that i'm gay for about 7 years at least. I've been with my girlfriend for 3, and we've lived together for over a year. They always said, "we don't have a problem with you being gay, we love you however you are." BUT... they never call her my girlfriend. always by her first name and often as my "roomate." I think they are afraid what relatives and friends might think. (though i get a vibe from my relatives that they all know i'm gay, too) however, tonight on the phone my dad called my girlfriend my "roomate" and it was a one on one conversation, me and him.

What is up with this? It makes me upset. But I don't want to criticize them too hard. I'm flying out to visit them in 2 days, so what could I say to them to make them understand?

I'm a very respectful person, I don't judge people for their beliefs. If I have to say, I must be closer to a spiritualist than anything. Then again, spiritualists also believe in a higher energy. I just can't seem to grasp the fact that soemthing semi-controls us or decides our fate in the end, even with our own choices.
I don't seem to believe 100% in something bigger besides love, and that I believe is felt and able to be pasted on to the ones you love but not all at once as a universe.
it's strange for me to believe we are mere organisms.
Here it is, I believe in people and our ability to change things, to create and destroy things, to love and hate with outrageous power but I don't believe in a purpose other than what your heart tells you.
What would this be?
I don't believe that our soul with combine with god and definately not going for that devil stuff.
?

Such a simple question, but when asked, there is generally an implicit depth and/or breadth of reply desired.

In the case of this particular Yahoo!® Answers question, there are no boundaries.

I'm interested in becoming a Catholic Priest, however confused on how I should begin. I heard there are some orders that you can join that they will teach you for free and after 6-8 years of formation and education, you become ordained. However I've also heard that you need a degree outside the field of theology first then enter into a Seminarian college, like the ones in Missouri and Minnesota. I'd rather join a order, like the Jesuits without having to obtain my degree first, if such an option exists.

That womans my mother:
A lady standing strong and tough,
Who still stood standing,
When all things got rough.
A woman of courage and passion for love,
Kept her strong in hr faith,
too her lord up above.
That womans my mother,
With eyes made of brass,
A smile full of diamonds,
A heart pure at last.
I send her my love,
through the soft swaying wind,
and along with my love,my prayers i will send.
I'M blessed with her wisdom,
and warmth of her heart,
the touch of her love,
when were far apart.
Soon I will see her,
in my arms she will rest,
and again she will make it,
through one of God's test.
