I'm a very respectful person, I don't judge people for their beliefs. If I have to say, I must be closer to a spiritualist than anything. Then again, spiritualists also believe in a higher energy. I just can't seem to grasp the fact that soemthing semi-controls us or decides our fate in the end, even with our own choices.
I don't seem to believe 100% in something bigger besides love, and that I believe is felt and able to be pasted on to the ones you love but not all at once as a universe.
it's strange for me to believe we are mere organisms.
Here it is, I believe in people and our ability to change things, to create and destroy things, to love and hate with outrageous power but I don't believe in a purpose other than what your heart tells you.
What would this be?
I don't believe that our soul with combine with god and definately not going for that devil stuff.

Why call it selfishness when I'm completely happy and compassionate?

Yeah, I'm like you. I don't judge people for their beliefs either, though sometimes they seem enclosed in their own little worlds, unable and unwilling to synchronize themselves with 'the facts'. I would suggest that you look to science as a guide to spirituality. I believe that science will be the source one day capable of answering the question; 'What is God?'. It's a pretty amazing universe we exist in. Look for fact based answers and it will still lead you to this thing we call God.

Well, I personally think that you are apparently a spiritual person. Just because you've found that most spiritual people that don't follow a sect or denomination believe in higher energy, doesn't mean y ou have to conform to that definition. You just need to reflect on what you feel is right. take a day out and meditate or self-reflect. If you take time out to look at the small things in life and how they make you feel you can slowly begin to gather why that is and what ultimately brings you those feelings. Is it God? Is it that these things that make you happy are relevant from your childhood or a loved one?
Just don't limit yourself to any doctrine. There are many spiritual people that, while classifying them self as a certain religion, are probably loose practitioners or self-reliant of the message they want to receive. it becomes up to you, the individual to decide whether or not you believe in God, and if so, why?
No one here can answer that question for you of "Do I believe in a God?"
Only you can through reflection and understanding.

Wow... that sounds exactly like me a few years ago. Yes, the fact is, we are more than just mere organisms and we do have a higherpurpose. God has laid it out for us, but does not force us to go. But trust me, as someone who knows he is walking in the destiny God laid out for me, there is nothing else I would rather be doing. Again, God does not control you to go into your calling, but it is the best thing in the world for you to do. And yes, you know what that calling is by yiur heart telling you, just like you said!
And it's true, there is nothing bigger than love. and we know God is love, right? wow! this is so deja vu!
So in conclusion, believing in God is the most rewarding thing I have ever done. I already know I'm going to heaven, so I don't have to worry about what happens after I die, and while I'm here I know exactly what God has called me to be, and i'm being it, and it's the greatest feeling in the world!

God is love. I personally don't go for that devil stuff either--in fact I try to stay away from Satan.
If you are truly searching, God is waiting for you. Don't be afraid. Listen to what your heart is telling you. The world is too intricately designed to have just happened by accident. It is an amazingly wonderful gift created just for us. Appreciate it, and I hope you find the loving God. Try reading the Bible, it sounds like you are ready.

Sounds like you are somewhat in my boat. I refer to myself as Agnostic. Do a little research and see if it clears up a few things for you.
ag·nos·tic
Pronunciation: ag-'näs-tik, &g-
Function: noun
Etymology: Greek agnOstos unknown, unknowable, from a- + gnOstos known, from gignOskein to know -- more at KNOW
1 : a person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (as God) is unknown and probably unknowable; broadly : one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god
2 : a person unwilling to commit to an opinion about something

I would say no you do not from what you have written. A belief in God is that Life had to be created, not happen by chance. In order for that to happen then you have to have a creator. After that comes religion and you get a Idea of why and who that God is and a way to study him and follow his ways.

My belief is unimportant, but your belief is everything.
God reveals and man observes.
And you question has a lot of observations.
God is spirit (wind), and we worship him/her in spirit and in truth.
The Christian bible never question the existence of God, it is assumed. My belief centers around this, and I believe that God's word as spoken by the prophets are in its pages.
1 Cor 10:23-24 with emphasis on verse 24.
Now what do you believe? And what is your source?

Having faith in humanity and love does not mean you have to believe in god. "Mere" organisms; I wonder what that means? It is a shame we take nature for granted some times. I think with what you have described, you should research being agnostic, hado or chi (for that spiritual energy), existentialism and Buddhism.
Good luck!

Do I believe in a God?
Yes, the Christian God...
I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).
For scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm
Cordially,
John
