For our vacation, my boyfriend and I are traveling to North Carolina (from NJ) to visit with a couple my boyfriend has been friends with since high school (he's now 31). Since we're going to be staying for about five days, I felt that we should bring them some sort of gift for their home...My boyfriend feels that that will seem out of place and just like we're following etiquette rules (and therefore won't have any real "meaning"), and plus, he says, we'll take them out to dinner one of the nights to a really nice restaurant.

I know they aren't expecting anything, and we are both very broke, but I don't like the idea of showing up empty-handed...

Any suggestions?

While not relating to any other Volcanic Eruptions, confine your answers to Mt. St. Helen's eruption in 1980.
Millions of trees were destroyed. There were/are few roads suitable for vehicles and after the eruption, most were no doubt impassable.
How did the Forestry Service manage to re-plant all or most, of those trees?

i know where it say men should not have sex with other men but i have not came across women should not have sex with other women and if the bible says what it means and means what it says and also nothing should be added or taken away from it why do people twist and turn the bible saying to mean what they want it to mean

This question is for evolutionists and atheists...if the earth started from a tiny piece of dust, where did that dust come from? If humans started from animals and those animals started from tiny organisms, then where did those organisms come from? If those two things came from even smaller things, then where did those smaller things come from? You see, you really have no arguement here because you can't possibly answer this and tell me that those things came from something else and so on.. because no matter how far back they go they would have had to start somewhere and they can't start somewhere without a creator. So really, what do you have to say to that?

Other than the power of positive thinking. If God is perfect, then he already knows what he's going to do in regards to the situation you're praying about. Are you going to change his mind with your pleading? If you think so, then doesn't that indicate that God isn't perfect, since his original solution wasn't actually the best one after all? What is the power of prayer then?
