ignorance

Genesis 3:1 - one of the first quotes in the Bible was the serpent mocking God and that has continued today as the Bible said it would.

Interestingly I see a lot of people mocking Christianity but not having any sound reasoning to back it up.

I do not mock the bible, Jesus or God. What I do mock is all the people who are pushing their religion on me and saying that this religion is the 'right' one. No one has the answer that to that but the individual.

Personally - I believe there is 'something' there - not necessarily the God we are referring too. But that doesn't matter because what does matter is what you believe in personally and what I believe in personally. I will not mock you and you should not mock me - unfortunately mocking has become mainstream in the ways of religion. No one should be ridiculed because they do not believe in the same as the person sitting next to them. I personally think there is not one right or wrong religion.

Because religious superstition mocks reality, reason, and often basic human decency. There's nothing wrong with having a mythology to illustrate the values and ideals of a culture; but when you take it literally as an inflexible blueprint for the universe - especially those 'kill people who don't believe the same fairy tale' commandments - well, then we have a problem.

Remember, Osama bin Laden is as devoted to his faith as US Bible-thumpers are to theirs. And just look at the results. When's the last time an atheist blew up an 800-year old statue, killed 3000 American citizens, or tortured thousands of people to death for believing in a God? Tens of millions have been slaughtered over petty differences in religion because people couldn't accept that 'their' peculiar fairy tale might not be the only possible belief.

So here we have Christians hauling themselves up on the Cross and bewailing what martyrs they are for enduring the 'persecution' of mere mockery. You should get on your knees and thank the Imaginary Spook that that's all we do; it's orders of magnitude kinder than what Christianity (and Islam, and other faiths) have done to those who thought differently.

Because it's mythology. We don't mock it per-se, because the bible is just a book of myths and fables, god and jesus are nothing more than mythological fabrications.
What we DO mock on the other hand, is anyone stupid and gullible enough to believe any of it is more than what it is. Do you worship leprechauns or pixies too? Same thing.
That's why we mock you.

"False Bible teachers would bring in heresies, have many followers, and cause others to reject God’s Word "(2 Peter 2:1-2).
"These false prophets would be money hungry, smooth talkers" (2 Peter 2:3). TV evangelists no doubt

"Men would mock the warning signs of the end of the age saying, “These signs have always been around” (2 Peter 3:3-4).

Because the bible is a lie, and Jesus and God are fake.

Because of unbelief, they are ignorant of who their savor real is. The Lord Jesus Christ was God manifested in the flesh. He came to earth as a man to die for our sins on the cross. Philippians 2: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: Philippians 2: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: Philippians 2: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. One day they stand before Him and be judged for what they have done and then be casted into the lake of fire. Revelation 20: 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. Revelation 20: 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.Revelation 20: 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Because people mock what they do not understand and they haven't found Jesus in their heart themselves. It's a shame.

There could be several reasons.
One good one could be the way so many people who call themselves Christians behave. Let's face it, it's our own Lord's rule that we ought to do unto others as we would like them to do unto us. Go ask the good Bro. Phelps why so many people these days are mocking our faith.
