21:18 If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:
21:19 Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;
21:20 And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.
21:21 And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

Wow! I've got 8 people to do the stoning and one person to provide an alibi (Unfortunately she is annonymous). I think 8 stones should do the trick. And they say there is no community spirit left in the world. I think we just proved them wrong.

I was out shopping at the weekend and I noticed a bunch of Christians fresh out of church in their Sunday best. They were breaking the sabbath and per the Bible should be put to death also. Maybe we could get a stoning party together.

I think many people missed the point you were trying to make because they claim to be Christian, but don't bother to follow the rules laid out in the Bible.

People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
I can't believe you would actually do this horrible thing to your own son, or even concieve of it.
Maybe we should stone you.
Maybe you should be more tolerant of your son's drinking habits, and quit starting fights with him whilst he's drunk.
Yeah, I do think we ought to stone you. Thou shalt not kill.
I'm not a Christian, but the 10 commandments hold a much larger sway in my mind than deuteronomy. How old is your son now, anyway? If he's 23 or more, and you find this to be intolerable, separate your ties with one another- I'm sure somewhere in the bible you'll find a quotation that says it's okay to disown your son. I still really can't believe you would ask a question like that!

I'm not going to quote the Bible,but I'm going to tell you what a mother loves,and it's called "Disipline". This is something you should have given him as a child. If you spare the rod,you spoil the child (sorry,I had to add that). Now that he's older and has experienced drinking,sex,and what-have-you,it's going to be a little difficult to mold him now. Hopefully he has'nt started skipping (or) quit school yet. The next step is Rehabilitation. Get him started in "AA". If he refuses to go,then send him to a "Boot Camp",where the boot goes very far.

When Jesus returned to humble Himself on the cross, He spilt His blood for us so that we might be forgiven of our sins, no matter how many or how bad they are. The story above illustrates that all sins are equal, and if you were to stone someone for drinking or committing adultery, then you migh as well stone yourself, because nobody is without sin. Jesus can forgive any sin, and it is not neccesary for you to stone your son, thanks to Jesus' gift of salvation.

Your son? How old is he? Why is he drinking and living in your house? If hes old enough to drink then hes old enough to live on his own. Kick him out!!!! You don't have to take his mouth. And if hes not old enough to be drinking then you need to get him into a rehab and a counselor. And slap his mouth every time he mouths off to you! What wrong with parents now days who let there kids rule the roost? This is why we have such un ruly kids coming up in this world today.

Unfortunately, most cities don't have gates anymore. Perhaps you could petition your city council to errect a set of honorary gates for the purpose of stoning people.

Didn't' you teach him any better. Problems with children can be traced back to the parents. Not being smart, just pointing out a fact.

No! Love him. If he lives in your house,your rules apply or he needs to move out. He can visit on holidays.You can also set up an intervention.Old Testament stuff is extreme. Ask yourself "What kind of world am i building?"Peace.
