people, ESPECIALLY with regard to pagan religions Wicca etc. i don't need to be saved! i don't tell you what you should believe in, it's very arrogant and at least i've come to my beliefs through making up my own mind and looking into my own heart, and not just taken it as read from someone else. of course i don't mean all Christians, and in any case i think true Christians are good, ie do unto others etc. just those agressive, self righteous ones! thankyou. I belive they didnt they had different fathers, Cain was fathered by the serpant, and abel by Adam. The bible says thay abel was like adam, and adams 2nd son seth was like adam it makes no mention of cain being like adam. Why would God punish eve with childbirth if they ate fruit. When a plant bears fruit it reproduces. Why would adam and eve cover their private parts when confronted by God?? the bible says that the serpant was beautiful creature that stood upright!

a muslim guy is trying his best to convert me to islam. He tells me that islam is a pure religion like crystal clear water. when i pointed out to him verses from the koran about how mohomed violated human rights, he still keeps saying that its a pure faith.
how can muslims brand islam a pure faith and accept unholy and cruel beleifs just beause a man named mohomed committed them using God's name as a cover up for his crimes?
what more should i do to discourage this idiot who keeps bugging me that islam is pure?

First, I don't believe in God or any religion. I'm very often amazed on how people can believe in religion and sometimes have questions about your "mentality" regarding this belief.

You people say that God is responsable for the pretty trees, the cute little bunnies, the oceans full of fish and our own existence.

But what about negative things like tornadoes, wars, George Bush, forest fires, earthquakes, etc? Am I right to assume you say negative events are from the uncontrollable nature, but positive things are from God?

You are privileged to even be alive, and to live on Earth, and to live in the glorious USA where nearly everyone has everything they need to live and be happy.

Things could be more worse. Why ask for more than what you have? Be happy you're organized into a body with cells all working together to get stuff done, be happy that you can feed these cells everyday with Earth's abundant resources, be happy that the Earth is also organized into a solid form that is hospitable to life! Be happy for the one star that shines on you all day and keeps you warm! And be happy that you live in a place where other things aren't chasing you around and trying to kill you for their own benefit. Society treats you well, even if you don't believe so. The services that fellow people supply you with make it so easy to live, you take it for granted.

So why ask for more than what we already have? Why ask not to be crippled? Why ask to be a better person? Why pray for an afterlife? Why wish for fortune?

There is so much talk around Yahoo Answers, about the fictionality of the Bible, & anti-social elements of the Islamic texts...
My question is, should we not treat all religious books at par?
Do devout christians question the authenticity of the Quran & not of the Bible?
(Just for example) Why?
Should we not consider all religious text as the moral & social wisdom collected by the people of that time in history, & complied into a book?

They say they do not get upset when God is mentioned, however check any responses they leave for christian based questions or comments. They say don't shove religion down our throat, yet they choose to be in a section that state religion and spirituality, a section where they know people will be talking of God. They say we don't discriminate, but just pay attention to the reponses I will receive to this simple question.

Why are they so bitter about a God that does not exist? I do not get upset at evolutionists and curse them out, because I do not share their beliefs, therefore I could careless. Even though evolutionists and aetheists shove their beliefs in our face and our children faces in school. We should not share ours, however they are forcing their's upon us and our children.

Who is shoving belief down who's throat? It seems to me it is the minority of aetheists, who are hell bent on having it there way.
