I'm not questionin whether or not whites, men, etc get discriminated against (they do), however I don't think that it's reverse discrimination....only discrimination. The dictionary defines discrimination as:

"Treatment or consideration based on class or category rather than individual merit; partiality or prejudice"

that can be blacks discriminating against whites, or schlarships that favor indians over caucasions.

Your thoughts???

Being a High School Student, I have noticed high religious battles between students & how it has not only become just a personal belief, but how it is also how students judge their peers by. In High School, religion is used by & against students just like the judgement of one another's choice of clothing. Most of the time, those kids that everyone bows down to, basically the Preps & Jocks, are the type of kids who say that they are much into their religion of Christianity or whatever it is they may be, & they use it against the kids that they don't like, who usually are your social outcasts, whose religion is usually Wiccan, Agnostic, or Atheist (Me being Atheist myself), those people also get kicked out of school for expressing their religion as well, such as wearing a Pentagram. What I've come to see is that those who take their religion very seriously are truly the most stuck up & snobbish people I've ever met. Do you believe that this is not right?

Shell,
Did you read this religion? Do you know anything about it? Did you really hold their book and read what you said in your answer?

I challenge you would ever find a kinder and more humane book than that book.

Young Shell, Reading and invetigating is the only way to proper knowledge. You must make it a habit to read all views and explore for your self. You must never ever make a decision based upon either one side or what somebody told you.
Read the book Shell, and come back tell us what you really think.

It annoys the hell out of me when people are "let out early for good behaviour".
They do something bad, and deserve to be punished. The punishment is meant to fit the crime, not be affected by how good they are once in jail.
This cannot help anyone see what they will be like when they leave as people's behaviour will be influenced as they want to leave.
If someone has commited a crime, whatever it is, shouldnt they serve the full sentance given to them regardless of good behaviour?
In addition, if people behaved badly in prison then their sentance could be extended which would giv people motive.
Ok it may cost more, but people deserve justice and it might reduce crime rates.
Good behaviour has nothing to do with the crime.
Do you agree or do you think it is a good thing people are let off on good behaviour early?

What stimulated it? What makes it the chosen reaction to whatever it is a reaction to? How does it fit in with various cultures? Is it compatible with most cultures? Why? Do you like it? Do you find it adaptable or detrimental personally? Do you think it may rival religion in the Asian culture? I think it might. I think it is a ceremony without content, a ritual, but I also think that in Japan their religion IS ritual and not a figure or God or content . . their God is the ritual, the ceremony. Is the cuteness a content or a ceremony? I believe it is a ceremony. ??? Maybe not. ?

9:13 "I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth."

According to this, and Christians who have told me this story, God put rainbows in the sky to remind us that he will never flood the Earth again. Correct?

If this is so, did rainbows not exist before this time? Because before the bible was written, and definitely before Noah's time, ancient people recorded the phenomenon of rainbows all around the world.

I thought it was from the Bible but apparently it was written in 1926 by a guy named Reinhold Neibuhr. No problem, it's still beautiful and wonderfully human. It reads (in part):

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Famous words and very good words.

If someone says 'I struggled with my homosexuality but I realised it was who I am', let's give him the benefit of the doubt. In light of that, how should he interpret this prayer?

And how should society interpret it?

I think it's a good question - try to give it a thoughtful answer.

Peace.

If you are growing in your faith and are starting to relize things your doing are sins faster then you can correct them (no body can change over night) does it make it worse to know that your commiting a sin then if you didnt know you were sinning? And what if you apologize before hand, asking for patience with your weakness' ?
