Possibly. Certainly people have done so in the past and some continue to try to do so today. But considering that we are all free to make our own decisions, I would say this is difficult to really justify. Today's age is one of information, and most people are intelligent enough to decide what to do on their own.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, and we should respect all of them.

I would rather be controlled by religion than by sin....although, it's religion that sends alot of folks to hell....I happen to love old-time religion but it won't save and carry me off to heaven someday.

Kyle P is on it. Fear governs people. Like 50 years ago white people were afraid to go to school with blacks. 100 years ago, men were afraid to let women go to school. Remember how scared we were of the russians when we were in elementary school. Fear works.
