I live in a fairly rural area just south of Indianapolis, Indiana. My town of about 40,000 is getting its SECOND Supercenter.

This will be 8 Supercenters within an hour's drive of my home, NOT including any in Indianapolis. The current one in my town is only about 5 yrs old, and proponents of the second one say that this current one has already exceeded its design as far as the number of customers go.

I say, hire more cashiers at the first one to run all the empty registers so that customers don't have to worry about their ice cream melting before they even get out of the damn store!

In addition, hire a few more highschoolers to corral the shopping carts in the parking lot!

There's no need to build all these new eyesores, taking up increasingly rare open land. Just put those profits into increasing salaries so that they can retain workers and reduce the infuriating lines.

I feel this would be among the best Public Relations moves they could do.

How do you feel?

the other day i visited a senior care center and was depressed for many many days seeing many of the older people's state there. Some of these folks kept of hollering for medicines, someone needed a bedpan, somene else was crying out loud with some sort of pain, somone else just sat there with that blank, lost look in their eyes it made your stomach churn! These folks who once nurtured their sons and daughters all their lives, provided them with everything 'possible' to enrich their kids' lives ( notice i said 'possible' because every parent conceivable tries to do the best for his or her child) and made them capable of living on their own. But now that the parents are old, they are left in 'nursing homes' where someone else - a stranger - could take care of them in their time of need. At least that's what the assumption is. But if we cannot take care of our own parents, how can we expect a stranger to take good care of them? and what about the love and care? can the nursing home employees provide them the love and care that they "deserve"? anyone has ideas about a different setting than the existing structure of nursing homes?

One minute it's caring/loving God, the next it's vengeful/spiteful God; does not play well with others. Get back on the meds, God, seriously.

i mean the aging problem.men are mostly into young girls, why?because thats the freaking nature, because human being is nothing more than an animal basically, it will be attracted by whatever its instincts choose and those instincts will choose the younger and so healthier and more productive females. so you should be able to see that there is no point to call them sickos just because they prefer 13-18 teenagers to olders. this is a sick world what can you do...

ok people, here's the deal. My mom was reading an answer from this very site, and in it was the commonly used acronym, LOL. Now, she was reading the section aloud and when she reached the acronym in question she said "lots of luck!" And i was truly awestruck. i said mom, that's not what it means. and she said, well yea it is!.

and thats how it went down.

so plz help me out here so that i can prove my pop culture ignorant parental unit wrong.

kthx.

Is it not true that the vast majority are not influenced by religion when it comes to ethical behaviour but by their natural sense of sympathy, empathy and common sense ? Why does a Catholic use contraception even though it is forbidden by his church ? Why does a Muslim become good friends with a Christian when if they were to follow their religion to the letter of the law they should really spurn the so called infidels. Why does a Christian attend their friend’s gay wedding and wish him/her every happiness ? Is it possible that we are all ruled by our emotions whether they be good or bad and this invariably overrides religious belief. If all Christians and Muslims in the world actually followed their religions to the letter of the law, we would all be dead now. Thank goodness, most (but sadly not all) people don't actually follow their religions strictly and rather they follow their natural sense of sympathy, empathy and common sense which are for the most part good..In a nutshell, good people will do good and bad people will do bad with or without religion.

....our closest galaxy, Andromeda is 2.5 million light years away and therefore it's light takes 2.5 million years to reach earth .This means of course that this galaxy has been in existance for a period that cannot be less than 2.5 million years ? We are simply seeing the galaxy as it was 2.5 million years ago. So how can some people still claim that the earth and heavens are only 6000 years old. I am not referring to the intelligent design folk or the people who believe a creation day could be millions of years, I am referring ONLY to the people who take the bible literally.

And if you reference science to back up young earth theory, please reference names, studies, books etc.

People have valued and wanted gold for a long time. Is the reason the people in the past valued it so much was because it was shiny (and heavy i guess)? and because it was shiny and heavy (if that's the reason) they valued it and we continued the idea that it's worth so much?

i have some idea why it's worth a lot now, making things out of gold. But what about in the past?

hope this makes sense

I am completely disgusted at the public bathroom facilities here in the USA. I often dread going to the restrooms in public places. I can't believe how disgust some people are! I find that people tend to use the restrooms without flushing what they leave behind, they pee on the seats or worse outside the bowls.

Even more disgusting is when women leave their female napkins just out in the open. I was raised to wrap it up and discreetly dispose of it. As to not let everyone know your business. But I really have to say that I am deeply disappointed by our's society's etiquette, or lack of it. Really poor upbring.

Am I the only one that feels this way?

when he told them to kill all the little kids, but keep the little virgin girls as a prize?

-----------------------------
31:15 And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive?
31:16 Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.
31:17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
31:18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves

I am 18 and enjoy learning about other cultures and religions. I think that all people are of value. My parents say that if I don't follow their religion, I am going to hell, and so are all these other people.
