I am completely disgusted at the public bathroom facilities here in the USA. I often dread going to the restrooms in public places. I can't believe how disgust some people are! I find that people tend to use the restrooms without flushing what they leave behind, they pee on the seats or worse outside the bowls.

Even more disgusting is when women leave their female napkins just out in the open. I was raised to wrap it up and discreetly dispose of it. As to not let everyone know your business. But I really have to say that I am deeply disappointed by our's society's etiquette, or lack of it. Really poor upbring.

Am I the only one that feels this way?

No, you're not. I used a public restroom in a hospital the other day and it was disgusting. I have opted for the woods behind rest stops at times because they are infintely cleaner than the bathrooms.

Wow you must frequent a lot of nasty bathrooms! But I agree with you. What I don't understand are the ones who "hover" just above the seat to pee, and leave splash-back. What ever they are afraid of to keep them from actually sitting on the seat is probably not even real. Accidentally sitting on someone elses pee is the bigger threat. Really, has anyone gotten anything from a toilet seat before?

What sort of places are you going? Maybe if you are in some gross gas station bathroom you see that, but most decent places in America keep the restoom facilities pretty clean. If you think it's bad here, don't go to Mexico. There are a few bad bathrooms there, for sure.

I agree with you. I think it's sad that I have to make sure that my daughter wipes the toilet seat off before she uses it because some chick is hovering over the seat thinking she's going to catch some type of disease. Give me a break! People like that are more at risk of spreading diseases than people who use the toilet normally. If people are going to piss on the seat, they should at least wipe it off, and maybe even carry around a little bottle of Lysol to disinfect the pissy mess.

Try a public restroom in some other choice countries. The US's are far from bad.

I have to agree with this. However, I think that public bathrooms worldwide are usually nasty. I've been to Europe and Mexico, and they are similarly as bad. The only ones that are not, are the ones that are pay bathrooms. I wish we had some of those in the us because those are usually clean.

There are some facitlites that are really nasty. I know as soon as I walk in somewhere if I would want to use the bathroom. I've also been to some pretty nasty bathrooms. Some businesses take good care of this area and kudos to them!

That's funny, because I don't know one person or have even heard of anyone who actually LIKES a dirty, nasty bathroom. So why are they always so gross then?! I hear ya about the feminine products things. One time my daughter was two and before I could grab her she walked into the stall and snatched up a dirty pad. I washed her hands like fifteen times and slathered her in germ-killing gel. I nearly puked.
