I am a gay Christian. Why is it that so many religious organizations/layman pick homosexuality as the so called sin to publicize? As far as I know the bible points out many more sins in a very straight forward manner (i.e. thou shalt not commit adultery). Yet you have a radical church group going to the funerals of military members (I just retired from the Navy) that have died in combat recently with signs of hatred stating the service member is gay and that's why God hates him and let him die.

First, my God doesn't hate. Second, the guys as far as everyone knows arent' gay. But what about the other sins? Are they ok now? Why the hatred? If you're so good then do as the bible states and "love thy neighbor."

It's not your choice if it's right or not; God has the final say.

I've been appointed as Praise and Worship Leader at a church I have recently joined. I've only been there 5 months and of course there are people who dont respect me, just because I'm young and new in ministry. Right now we are going through transition to a new, bigger church building and in our temporary place now, I havent been asked to lead since we left our old building. I am a bit confused, i try not to get fleshy, but it hurts. This is what i am called to do.I know I am still a leader, but i really feel like I've been thrown to the back burner.has anyone experienced this? I feel so alone. It hurts, like someone is stifling my gifts and callings. How do I get past this and strengthen myself in the transition?(Born Again believers and/or Minsters only pls)

I just found out that Doubleday publishers and editors added and changed verses in the Da Vinci Code and now I am doubting that this book reveals the true divinity of God written through the hands of Dan Brown?

How can it be God's word if many different people have changed it?

Do you know why yours is different than others? I myself tend to side with the Evangelicals.

Why did I choose them? Because they believe the Bible and don't cherry pick what they want to accept.

1. The Father chooses before the foundation of the world those who will be saved (the elect). Ephesians 1:1-12 (esp 1:4)
2. The Father gives these ones (the elect) to the Son to save. John 6:37-40.
3. The Son dies for those (elect) the Father has given him and looses none, but raises them all up at the last day. John 6:39-40,44.
4. The Holy Spirit applies to the heart (of those the Father has given the Son and the Son has died for and saved) the work of Christ so that they respond to the gospel at the appointed time and their salvation is realized. John 14
5. Those the Father has not chosen and given to the Son will never be saved but remain in their rebellion and unbelief and be eternally lost.

If i was at dinner with friends and before we ate for some reason they wanted to pray, would it be rude if i just ignored them and started talking to a friend next to me who is also an atheist and i disrupted everything at the table? What am i suppose to do just sit there mutely? I dont think so.

A boon to those hungry for knowledge?

Or a more efficient way to spread disinformation?

I am by no means an expert in everything, but I notice a lot of false claims, personal opinion, and other hooey purported as 'fact' in many of these answers. Are people smart enough to know the difference? Many people can write eloquently, but don't know squat about what they are talking about. On the other hand, someone with a wealth of knowledge, but bad grammar, might be dismissed offhand as ignorant. If I don't know enough about something to respond intelligently and concisely, I either do a little research, or let someone more knowledgeable field the question. Sadly, it seems, many others do not, to the detriment of others.

What do you think?
