A mirror is more like a leak into the universe. It can often act as a portal into many other dimensions of reality. If you are psychic or a sensitive person to emotions, intuitive thoughts and feelings, you may be suseptible to being uncomfortable around mirrors. Everytime someone looks into a mirror, their thoughts and feelings are channeled into that mirror. As you can imagine looking into ourselves through a mirror can illicit a lot of thoughts and emotions. What happens is all of those thoughts and emotions into the mirror are reflected back out and acts as beacon or a signal device of some sorts and actually attracts other spirits or beings. Over time, because of so much emotions and thoughts being "sent through"... the mirror becomes like a portal or passage way for others of different realms to come through to our world. Ha!! Bet you didn't expect someone to actually know the answer to your question. ; )

There is a story in the Ifa's philosophy that narrates a reference about this question. It's exactly in Ojuani's story.
Ojuani says that mirror is a gate between this universe and other contiguous and it's nowadays closed. One upon a time was opened when the first inhabitants of the universe were sent to its and the gate was closed for the reason that they couldn't return to the other side. That's why when you are in front of a mirror, this one repeats the same you do.
The prophecy about the mirror says that when it shall be opened again persons could see unknown colors that the human eyes can not see.

I can see how a window could be a mirror of heaven and a peek into the universe...let me try your way...hmmm
Ok, yes, it is both. A window to heaven because you're seeing the reflections of divinity. A leak into the universe because if you look just right you can see other dimensions. Ya think?

i visit't talk for Christianity seeing i'm a Muslim yet Islam and christianity have some thing in straight forward and believe Jesus replaced into ascended into heaven alive. Jesus continues to be alive in the 2d heaven waiting for the emergence of the anti Christ ( Dajjal in Islam) to announce he's god. Then Jesus Pbuh will ascend from heaven with both his hands on the wings of angels and ascend on the minnerette of the ummayid mosque in Syria . Sorry if I actually have not clarified it in the christian attitude even though it may well be very uncertain so igave you the Muslim version it really is totally sparkling reduce

It is a mirror that you look into each morning and throughout the day to see your own reflection, and how others see you. It is also used to make sure you don't have any boogers hanging out your nose.

It's a portal to an alternate reality identical to our own. Every time we look into one we're transported to that reality. But since they're identical, no one ever notices.
