1. The Father chooses before the foundation of the world those who will be saved (the elect). Ephesians 1:1-12 (esp 1:4)
2. The Father gives these ones (the elect) to the Son to save. John 6:37-40.
3. The Son dies for those (elect) the Father has given him and looses none, but raises them all up at the last day. John 6:39-40,44.
4. The Holy Spirit applies to the heart (of those the Father has given the Son and the Son has died for and saved) the work of Christ so that they respond to the gospel at the appointed time and their salvation is realized. John 14
5. Those the Father has not chosen and given to the Son will never be saved but remain in their rebellion and unbelief and be eternally lost.

All this is due to God giving man a free will. He knows exactly what is going to happen, but He still gives man a chance. God said let Us make man in Our Image (Genesis 1:26) In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God...and the Word became flesh (John 1:1-1:14) and God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (John 3:16). God is the top of the triangle, the Son and the Holy Spirit are the two lower points. We are made mind body and spirit just as God is the triune. The main differences are God is the Creator and we are the created. God is perfect in every way and we are flawed due to the original sin.

The Trinity is a fact (God/Son/Holy Spirit), but it is not the 'saving' factor...Its believing in Jesus as your ONLY Lord and Savior and that this is by faith, through grace and NOT by any of our works (good works)...then you are truly a child of God and see the Kingdom of God...(but hey, dont forget that we need to repent and turn away from sinning)

4. Irresistible Grace: The elect can not reject God’s grace. Acts 7:51 Ye stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.

5. Predestination of the saints. Predestination means that your destination has been plan for before hand. Only the saved are predestination. We are predestinated to be children by adoption and to be conformed to the likeness of his son. Romans 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. 1 Corinthians 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 1 Corinthians 2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
