In Acts 2:27 and 2:31 the King James Version seems to indicate that at His death, Jesus went to hell. Other versions have the word "Hades" in place of hell. Are hell and hades the same place?

There is a great deal of difference between hades and hell, although in 1611 when the King James Version was translated, "hell" was probably as good a concept as English would allow for the word "hades." By this we mean that the "unseen" world would have best been represented by the word "hell" in 1611.

But the facts are that hades and hell are two different places according to the Scriptures, and a distinction should be drawn between them.

I believe that people who have not accepted Christ have something like " blinders" on their hearts and minds. I think that when people accept Christ, the "blinder" comes off and we are able to see clearly things that other can't see, like things that people are accepting we can see that it comes straight from satan. And you tell a disbeliever something like that and they will never understand what you are coming from. But, if you tell a fellow christian, they too, see what you see. Did I explain that right? What are your thoughts on this? Oh and I also think that some people who have accepted Christ still have blinders on sometimes. So, I guess it is only certain people who see clearly! Oh, well, I am having a hard time explaining this, anyone want to help me out!!?

I found this list in Wikipedia and it's funny, but sad. I wouldn't consider myself trashy, but the term seems to cover a pretty broad spectrum. lol

Poor hygiene.
Poorly kept property.
Tattoos.
Marijuana, cocaine and/or oxycontin use.
Ignorance or lack of education.
Clannish, particularly evidenced by racist attitudes.
Laziness and lack of ambition.
Unstable families.
Sexual promiscuity, teen pregnancy, illegitimate children, and incest.
Poor diet, poor health or obesity.
Unhealthy dentition
Unruly behavior in public, including drunkenness, swearing, and brawling.
Poverty - particularly dwelling in trailers, or mobile homes (whence comes the term "trailer trash").
Residing in public housing, inexpensive apartments, or rental housing.
Illiterate, or without the ability to speak standard English.

Full list is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_trash

In detachment, do you find you loose your zest? You fun side as well as your sad side? I am very interested in this, and have read some really great books. But in detachment, do you miss out on joy and 'geting down' when a good tune comes on (for one example)?

He says, "I don't care. Whatever." Do you think it would be sporting to set a plate of rocks and twigs in front of him some night?

As always, please read the entire question, and answer like respectful adults. Thank you!

For those of you who believe in a "heaven" or afterlife:
Would you forego your heavenly rewards to return to this earth in an effort to continue working towards teaching your beliefs to non-believers, and redeeming the people that you consider "lost" or "fallen"?

Put more simply - so many people live their lives "un-saved". After you die, if given the opportunity, would you choose to return to earth to continue trying to save them?

This is a HYPOTHETICAL situation. Please refrain from answers containing things like "The Bible says it doesn't work like that". That is what "hypothetical" means. It means that it's a situation that most likely doesn't happen, but if it DID, how would you respond?

I just asked if you can befriend people from different races, religions and backgrounds and got 68 positive answers and 2 negative, so why the heck can't we all get along as we're supposed to? Why have I just read that in Spain some kids put 2 homeless ppl in flames? Why does the word ***... or spi.. still exist then? Or is it (in my wondrous imagination, maybe) that we, the youngest generations really are different? i really hope so, for the sake of the planet, that the younger we are, the less prejudiced we will be.

So many christians have told me to read my bible but I don't have one. I must admit I don't want one either it sounds like one of the most boring fiction books of all time. This guy walks around doing magic pretending to be the son of god oh dear he's dead. Oh wait oh no he isn't. Oh he's dead now. How boring does that book sound? Who else doesn't have a bible and doesn't want one?
