The law of copyright suggests that taking photographs is a creative process. So if you took the photographs then you are creative author of the photo if....you used your camera.
Sincer she gave you permission to take the photographs, and you took them with YOUR camera, then within the law. the photogra[hs belong to you.
But, you cannot use them to plaster on websites, or use for business if she is not over 18 years old. She can sue if you do.

You should make doubles. But you're not allowed to publish them, or to post them on the Internet. And showing them to your friends is NOT a good idea. She trusts you. And if she wants them back, you should do it because she'll always be afraid that you show them to people. Sorry, but it's called respect and understanding.

when yo utake a picture of someone it would be nice to give the person a double of the picutre but it is yours, you can take a picture of the white house and it is yours, yo ucant take a picture of brittany sprears and it is yours but if you use it to gain money it is a different story, so bottom line is , it is yours.

Legally they are yours as long as you do not sell them or show them to the public without her permission
