When people bump into you at a store no one takes the time to say excuse me or I'm sorry. Why not? People won't let you merge onto the thruway. Why? I just doesn't make sense to me. Americans need to relax and become a little more humble since being a miserable jerk doesn't do anyone any good.

Even though 99% of what I've been reading for the last 3 years was in English and I've been living and working in an english-speaking environment for the last three years, I still read 2x faster in French than in English.

Is it just me or is it typical of a second language? Could it be that English has a higher "semantic density" than French?

In July 2003, the Iowa Supreme Court held that a United Methodist Church could be held liable for defamation because a church leader wrote a letter saying "the spirit of Satan" was at work in the church.

Does this validate the existence of the Satan? Doesn’t defamation require truth or must the slander be proven false for it be defamation? What about separation of church and state? What are your opinions?

My assignment is to prepare a paper against gay clubs in high schools- what are your feelings on this matter?

Better still, what does the law and the constitution say about it? I want to use mandatory precedents, and I want to use laws rather than speculation and conjecture, in justifiying my assertion that gay clubs in high school is inapppropriate.

I am open minded- so please share your own ideas!

Personally, when it comes to CONSENTING ADULTS, I see no problem with their choices when it comes to sexual activity. However, I think that gay clubs should not be allowed in high schools. Part of the discussions would revolve around explicit sexual subject matter, and that is not productive in a learning environment like school. It doesn't belong.

And what say you?

I dont know the father, so jesus to me is God. He was a god in human form. It takes only a god to touch lepers and sinners. only a god can break all barriers that make it impossible to love, and jesus did these things

I've been trying to speak like the British and some of my friends think I actually did come from UK. But to some, they're more focused on proving me wrong with certain pronounciations. And other times, people would ignore everything I say everytime I use it. Aren't I entitled to say anything I want in any accent I choose?
