But there is no evidence to prove god either. And that is evidence to disprove god. Lack of evidence for something means that it doesn't exist.

Where is it then? Are you all keeping it secret in a top secret lair somewhere because I don't see any.

No now you see you don't underrated the way the world works to make a clam like god exists you need some evidence to back it up and then I discredit your evidence when I disprove you but you have failed to present any evidence which means you are wrong. To make a claim you need evidence. I am not making a claim as I am saying something doesn't exist I could tell you anything and not present any evidence and would you believe it?

Why do you care if someone believes in a higher power? I have never seen anyone get so upset over ppl's personal beliefs than atheists ROFL
What evidence? Don't you mean LACK of it? And just how do you prove or disprove something like that? You can't. All you can do is say there isn't any evidence. But, again, why do you care? I can understand if a religion is trying to make a law (such as the ban against gay marriage) which would remove a freedom from you, that you would stand against it. I would as well. But I view a lot of this in the same light as a Christian telling me I can't believe in a deity because it's not their deity. We are never going to get anywhere like this LOL

To say that because there is no evidence to prove god makes there be evidence to disprove god is an extremely weak argument. The reason being that you can turn that argument around just as fast and say because there is no evidence to disprove god, then there is evidence to prove god, which is obviously a stupid thing to say.

It is really only your opinion that I am wrong, and I am confident that you are no more likely to have the One Objective Truth, the Universal Theory of Everything (tm) than I am.

As to the evidence, I am unaware of any evidence that either definitively falsifies or validates the existence of any deity. I do know that the question of existence (and why it even is) is sufficiently problematic that science has even tried to respond to it with the anthropic principle.

My response to it is belief in God. I see no reason in either nature or philosophy to think that a "wrong" response.

What evidence?

Just because science can not prove something, does not mean that it is not true.

Until a couple of months ago science could only prove that there was nine planets in our solar system, now they know of at least 12 planets.

According to your argument, these new planets must have just formed.

I believe that there is a higher power out there. It may not be God or whatever higher power other people answer to. There are too many unexplained phenomena out there for every last thing to be explained by science.
