Which "n word" are you referring to? Not being a native speaker I cannot think of a word that might be offensive if used properly that starts with n. On the other hand I can think of quite a lot of absolutely harmless words that will be highly offensive with the right emphasis and facial expression - even polite words as "please" and "thank you" can transport an offense quite easily.
But YOU obviously think that this word is so bad that you don't even want to spell it out. It might tell more about your state of mind than the apparent negative semantics of the discussed word.

I don't think it ever should have been used. To be fair though, there are similar hateful words for a number of other races, religions and national origins. I can name you ones for Italians, Irish, Chinese, Hispanics, Jews, and a host of others.
When joking among themselves, any of those groups have a right to use whatever words they want. No one else does.
Although got one more thing to add, PC wise. Sometimes people get overly sensitive about things. A politician in DC used the word "*********" in a sentence, and used it in context with its correct meaning. He was nearly hounded out of office.
Was it maybe a poor choice of words? In retrospect.
Was it said in a demeaning or racist way? No.
Ah, just something more to think about.

Black people don`t like it when you use that word! But yet they can use it any time they want. So until they can control using it then it`s always going to be used. Always talking about that`s racial and trying to keep the black man down. Wake up your doing it to yourself!! I hate it when I here people use that word but then I have some black friends and they use it all the time. I say clean up your own back yard and stop feeling sorry for yourself!! Racial my *** !! Hell most blacks and hispanics are treated better than most white people today because they play that racial card! Get a grip!!!

First of all THEY don't all use that word. Most of THEM have a better self image of themselves and their culture and although the "n" word was directed towards African-Americans back in that day, the definition itself is without race or gender. I mean, look at the people who were using it in the first place. They considered themselves more intelligent yet they misused the context? Yeah, they were smarter alright.

Hypothetically speaking, I don't know why it's ok for one group of people to use it amongst each other but it's not ok for another group to use it at all.
I think either; A. Everybody use it. B. No one be allowed to use it.
Just my 2 cents. I think it's a stupid word anyhow.
*Btw, I think ppl b*tch and moan way too much about things that happened prior to their existance. You don't see the Jews still b*tching and look at everything they've gone through. (It's easier for me to feel sorry for a group of people that don't b*tch, than it is for me to feel sorry for a group of ppl that do b*tch. I dunno, I'm less inclined to feel bad when I turn on the freakin tv and see ppl b*tchin at me all the time about something I had no control over.)
I wasn't around back then, so don't blame me for what happened, I had no control over it.
If and when I judge you, it's because of who you are and the moronic things you do, it has nothing to do with race or any of that BS.
So lets all just get over this sh*t and move on.

Not if people still get offended by it. It is the same if people are offended by the confederate flag. Too many, it's a symbol of hate. Same with the swastika(sp). But if we get to a point where there is not a negative connotation to the word, then yes. But today, no.

I don't use that word in regards to just any African American person. I only use it when referring to the trashy, filthy ones that live in sh*tholes and live off of the Welfare money that hard-working Americans earn. Those people don't deserve to be called anything better than n*ggers.
