Well, you are sort of asking for insults or ribbing, unless you have British ancestry...and sometimes even if you do. I'm 1st generation American, and I assimilated early into American dialect, but I still slip with certain words, like aluminum, Jaguar, or garage, and I can fall back into an English accent with little or no provocation. As a result, some of my friends and coworkers give me grief about it.
So, I guess what I would say is, do it if you want to (I don't regret having my accent when it comes out) but be prepared for the garbage you'll get from people when you do. Also, be prepared to justify your decision to speak with one if you have no background from that country.

While I myself have been guilty of speaking with an accent in the past, I really don't think it's the right thing to do anymore.
In these days of "politically correct", speaking with a "fake" accent may well offend people who actually do speak with one. And depending on what accent you are mimicking, you actually may get hurt!
You should learn to enjoy who YOU are, without a fake accent. The accent does not really make up who you are, what you are like, etc. Be you. Not someone from the UK, France or anywhere else. Just be yourself. People will love you.

It is absolutely not wrong. You absolutely have the right to speak in any accent you want.
You also have the right to be considered - rightly I might add - a complete friggin idiot. And your friends have the right to call you out on it - prove you wrong - and make you look like the imbecile you are.

No it is not wrong. You are you and that is wonderful. Whatever you do that hurts no one, is fine. You are unique. It is what makes you you.
It is just an accent, no one will die, no one will be injured, no one will go into debt because of it. It is something you like to do and do well. enjoy...life is too short wo be stuffy and worried what others will think about you. You are in charge of you and you will deal with any consequences, not anyone else. enjoy.

In my opinion, yes. How u speak is how u express urself and that is what makes who u r. U may speak however u may wish. If people don't like who u r, then they don't like who u r and all they're gonna get is who u r. It's that simple. They don't like u then they should just walk away, even over the little things such as how u wanna express urself. I hope this answers your question. Nice speaking w/you!
