You live in america and have Bush as president, punishing you further would be kicking on someone lying down. And oh, you did have floods, maybe god likes preemptive striking...

No. I am a christian and I want to tell you something. The people who protest homosexuals are a little mixed up. Let me clear things up...God loves the sinner but hates the sinners sin. Catch me? God loves us but hates our sin. But he makes us free from sin in Christ if we accept him. To explain homosexuality from Gods perspective-it is wrong in Gods eyes. It was not his original design for relationships within the sexes. I don't think that God would strike the U.S. or Vermont for legalizing gay marriage. Legalizing something is not necessarily promoting it. You can't legislate morality in a free democratic society. It's not the law, it's the people. The issue may be legal but we as individuals have a choice. The Bible says in the book of Hebrews that all men are to live once and then comes the judgment. That's were it matters. Hurricanes and earthquakes happen and for their natural reasons. I don't think God brought judgment on New Orleans. These things happen. I the U.S. ever falls or something happens that seems to be Gods judgment I think it would be brought on by our own mistakes. We reap what we sow if we're not wise. No, God won't judge Vermont. But will you pass judgment? I'm not condemning you. But think about it and investigate it. Your eternity depends on it.

We do not always see the punishment of sin in this life.

I think it was Job and/or David that talked about the sinners prospering in this life, and some just people suffering now, but at the judgment day, God will reward each for what he did.

That's really nonsense. As long as a person does not trouble an other one, why should anything be forbidden?

According to the super-simple believe of some traditionalists, nothing bad would ever happen to "real" believers.

Anyway, all "believers" should switch to the suggested website and make a few thoughts on the topic.

to a certain degree,God has let things happen on their own.suppose you have a boy,who lies about his homework, and in the course of doing tests,at school;flunks.do we say that God failed this boy.no!the boy failed to do basic things in order to pass his tests.if the boy had followed Gods commandments about lying, this boy would have passed.so,no god didn't punish this boy,in fact God tried to help him pass his tests.God helps people sometimes who help themselves.there is no absolution in gods laws. so,God has not punished Vermont but Vermont will suffer decadence because foolishness is its wisdom.
God Bless

9He will not always keep after us. And He will not keep His anger back forever.
10He has not punished us enough for all our sins. He has not paid us back for all our wrong-doings.
11For His loving-kindness for those who fear Him is as great as the heavens are high above the earth.

God is patient and he will give men time to fix the situation. But his patience will only last so long.
