Maybe this feeling will pass away tomorrow; but, tonight I am so down. I have people in my life who are very edgy; and as much as I try to bring PEACE, emotions flair! Sometimes I just want to run away from it all; sometimes I just want to give up! But, I have to remember that though "I have had it REAL GOOD at one point in my life", I also "had it REAL BAD" at one point too. I am not where I WANT to be; but, neither am I where I USED TO BE either.
Staying positive and encouraging is a struggle at times. I only want peace. How can I obtain this, AND KEEP IT, without being DIScouraged by others emotional roller-coaster?

I hate to call anyone stupid but this person received three 4-year scholarships to out-of-state universities but he turned them down. Now he is taking classes online. Keep in mind he is 18 years old.

If he was my son, I would force him to accept one of the scholarships and send him packing. I'm sure he would thank me in the long run. How is he going to learn social skills and enjoy the campus life-style if he stays home and take ALL of his classes online??

I hate smoking so much, I think it's selfish and a waste of money. My Dad's smoking caused my Nana's cancer.

This may sound really weird but when I'm angry or sad or stressed out I get cravings for cigarettes.

I use to smoke when I was 14ish because I was naive and 'thought it was cool' blah blah blah! I quit about 6months later because I changed friends and I saw it wasn't cool.

I remember how calm it use to make me feel. I'd never actually go and smoke now, but I'm just wondering why I'm getting these cravings when I hate smoking so much?

Violence is a very complicated topic not only to discuss it but to think about it. People have different concepts of why violence exists and one idea can contradict another. To me violence it’s a signal that we as society are doing something wrong. It was hard for me to conclude what are causes and effects of violence but I believe that media, presence of firearms at home and domestic violence are the three strong roots of violence.

Television programs where violent scenes are present create a violent feeling to its viewers. The parents, on the other hand, with the enormous responsibility of work have left the television and video games as babysitters not giving their children the time and love that they need and instead a time of television they do not need at all.

To have guns at home its a risk. Perhaps the greater error as far as the firearms is the idea that they are useful and indispensable for self-defense. A firearm at home is usually use against a member of the family and in my opinion can increase the possibility of suicide.

Let us not confuse familiar violence with familiar conflicts. The discussions, fights and differences of opinion, are normal in the interpersonal relations, as long as they are not solved violently. The familiar violence can be pronounced of many ways. Most common they are: towards the women, between the spouses, towards the old ones, the minors and the disable people. The members of a family influence in the development of the personality of the children and of whom they cohabit, therefore, a person who lives in a dysfunctional family is going to be violent in all activities. The children normally undergo all the consequences of the problems of their parents, although they are not the direct victims.

In moral matter the violence affects and destroys the values of the family, attempting against the human freedom. To me family is love and in love it is not possible to be mediocre, aggressive or violent.

I was texting a guy that I am really into, and I got a little overzealous and I told him that I loved him. He responded with " Hey, this is just nuts". What exactly does that mean?

This is just after last night HE texted ME and HE said: " I really want to be with you. I am crying right now. You make me so happy".

What's going on?

Did I scare him, or is he saying it's nuts because we are both feeling this way & it's weird?
