I'm trying to become happy with myself. And I'm making progress in therapy. But I really want others to notice that I'm trying to better myself too. A friend of mine thought it was best to end our friendship. I really want them to know that I'm working on myself. How do I do this?

I think that until you do actually change people will really 'notice.' Unless they are with you everyday, then they should be able to notice the process.

Honestly, you don't need unsupportive people in your life. Surround yourself with great people who enjoy your company and will be there for you through thick and thin, and who will never give up on you.

I'd would say the best way to show other people would be to make a blog or your daily accomplishments. Then give the web site to your friends.

On the blog you could write about the positive things that you did throughout the day, as well as progress you have made on long terms goals that you have set for yourself.

Remember you can only compare yourself to yourself. Tracking your progress daily is one of the best ways to do that.

Talk to them about the progress you have made and how you plan on changing more. After telling them you must make an effort to show through attitude, emotion, and actions that you have changed for the better. If they are a true friend and you are being, more or less, blunt in your actions; they will notice that you have changed.

That person told you they didn't want to see you anymore. You don't talk to them anymore. Any info from you is now an intrusion in their lives.

I'm glad you're working on being happy. Stick to the therapy.

No need to, if you were truly happy you wouldn't care what others thought, you are still trying to please others. Please yourself and be truly happy!
