hi, i'm a 17 yr old girl. i have a 19 yr old brother...he's really handsome. he's been a heartthrob wherever he's gone. i know it is very wrong to have such feelings but i find myself very attracted to him. we share a wonderful relationship....i've been open to him about my relationships and stuff. i don't want to spoil all that. i'm afraid of how he moght react if he ever got an inkling of what's going on in my head. i really want to stop such things from popping up in my head but i can't. i've tried to distract myself and i'm quite successful most of the time...but everything rushes back to me once i'm back with him under the same roof. he has a way with girls and i'm afraid i'm falling to it even though he hasn't done anything to make me feel anything more than a sister. i'm not obsessive but my bf and my crushes all appear to vanish when i'm with him. what do i do? i can't live like this. i feel so guilty about it. i find myself being to his gf too these days. what do i do?

I'm 20 years old and I was a very social person up until about a year after I graduated highschool. I have trust issues and find it very hard to converse verbally. I have worked in the same place for just over a year now yet I am still too shy to say the first "hello" to my fellow workers. At parties I find myself wandering about by myself seperating myself from my friends. When I am alone I find this is where I can be happy, yet at the same time I would enjoy being able to go out and have fun, socially. I talk VERY quiet, almost a whisper all the time. I have no idea if this is psychological or what. I want to see a therapist but I feel I won't be able to open up without having 20 visits first. I have a lot of heart and a lot of stuff in my head that I would love to unlock and have people hear...What can I do?

Prison = torture of knowing you will die in a terrible prison, and let the thoughts stew

Death = they will never know the pleasures of life to come as your loved one will not either. Closure.

I am not being sarcastic when I ask this. But every cop I meet generally has the same personality and I am excluding female officers from what I know is a huge generalazation. Every cop I meet tends to be very cocky, distrustful and condescending even outside of work. Why?? I think it would help if they were more approachable. My friends husband works as one and he seriously lacks social skills, despite being nice to me directly. He scrutinizes every person he comes into contact with.

I get the idea that i think "too much' about just about everything. What is wrong with that? My curiosity and cynicism has helped me more than i can explain. It is safer to think things through a lot, and it opens my eyes to things people normally miss. On the downside, people might find me a bit paranoid. Except for this site, i do my best to keep my observations and thoughts for myself. Sometimes they are poisonous, and sometimes life-saving. I am strong enough to deal with a little internal poison if i create it myself. Why do i feel like it is wrong to think (and think and think and think) this way? While my life continues, is doesn't stand still.

He has a learning disability and he isn't handicapped. He is still in school and attends regular classes but with many accomodations. He is very forgetful and has to be told things many times before he does it, he daydreams alot and wanders off in his thoughts, He doesn't focus very well and rarely does things on his own without being told. They said he is able to work but I don't think so. You have to constantly stay onto him for him to do work and for him to stay focused. Otherwise he just zones out and forgets and no one is going personally stay on him like his family does. He is fighting to get his disability back...What kinds of things should he say? We have to write this letter to explain why we think their decision was wrong...What should we say? Why does someone like him who has a legit. problem get denied and the people who are fake get theres their entire life? Thats not fair. I don't want to cheat the system I just want them to see he has a real learning problem....

Why do you yawn even when you can NOT see/hear another person yawn?

Since the previous yawn thread was closed and no one seemed to answer the question above (all answers dealt with the visual/audio cues that yawns generate), I decided to ask the question but with a change.

Quite often, one can be riding in a car or sit in a room and yawn only to find a person out of view (or vice versa) follow up with a yawn. (no visual/audio cues).

Thanks.

I have so many friends who seem to complain about everything going on in their lives and feeling depressed because they wished they had someone else's life or they're always comparing their lives to someone elses. why can't they just realized how blessed they are to have all the things they have!

We all know emotionally immature adult people. Whiners, complainers, temper-tantrums, intimidation and rudeness. Fault finders and shallow thinking.

What does emotionally mature mean to you? Give me an example of your own emotional maturity.
