What's the worst nightmare you've ever had?

Jude that's a scary one, the worst one. i've had those dreams before. i think they make you appreciate your kids more.

I had this dream when i was about 16, and oddly enough it was a few weeks before my mother was murdered.

The dream was a bit fuzzy and all over the shop but he gist was a young girl had been murdered on the beach near my house and for some reason I had to investigate the crime. I was handed a photo of the dead girl and she had a knife through her head, I can still see the picture now. Suddenly the girl's eyes opened and she reached out of the photo and grabbed me, I almost wet the bed. I woke up in a right state and it affected my sleep for ages. I get nightmares all the time, many are about poltergeists and really scary things, but that dream will always stick in my mind as it was so vivid.

Many years ago I dreamed that some men took my prized convertible for a joy ride without my permission (I did own a convertible in real life at the time). I did not know the men and the car was returned unharmed. In the dream I was so angry I took the men into my house (in the dream it did not look anything like my real house) and locked up each man individually in a room. I never brought them food or water. I kept them prisoner. Periodically, in the dream, I would show up and administer a savage beating with a 2X4 to each of them. People could not find the men I had locked away (this dream house was pretty big and convoluted) but they tried to tell me was being unreasonable. In the dream I thought what I was doing was totally reasonable and what the men deserved.

I was really disturbed by this dream and have never forgotten it because it was so violent and graphic!

I was at a party hanging out with all of my friends. Someone in the dream that i didn't like smacked a girl down to the floor, so i pushed him. Another one of my friends picks the kid up, throws his head through a wall, and sets him on fire, killing him.

We ended up burying the kid in an alley, and said we wouldn't speak of it after that.

At the end of the dream, I remember walking through the city of Boston. As I was walking so casualy, two people taller then me come up to either side of me. They grab me by the arms and carry me down a long flight of concrete stairs. I shoot glances nervously at both the men, but then look down the stairs to see another tall man dressed in all black as he pulls out an over-sized knife from his inner-coat pocket. I struggle to break free, but they are much bigger and the threat is only feet away now.

I can remember choking for air when I woke up a moment later, and my heart beat racing at a deathly speed. I could feel cold sweat on my back and goose bumps all over my body. I thought I was going to be shanked! Scarry..

Had an episode of sleep paralysis once when I was awakened under very stressful circumstances. I had the distinct impression of three horned and shadowy figures that I can best describe as demons standing over me while a klaxon (which was real) blared and I was unable to move for a few seconds despite feeling myself to be fully coherent.

Most realistic dream I have ever had, and it scared the crap out of me for several days.

I had a dream that I lost a leg in the Oklahoma City Bombing. This is strange because I wasn't anywhere near the downtown area when the bomb went off. (In fact I was living in a suburb at the time.)

For all you dream interpreters out there, no - I don't lose anyone in the bombing. So the fact that I lost a leg is not figurative of emotional or relational loss. I've never been able to decipher its meaning.

I had this dream when i was younger about 8 and i have never forgot it

i done something really wrong (dont no what it was)

and for punishment all my family went to hell and they all got chained to this hot stone wall with a furnace behind it

they were all left to starve and get tortured my mum got branded on her head and just before one of then was about to give up and die The devil pulled to leaver and the wall switched around and they got burned alive and the wall switched around to show ur there charred skeleton....this happen to each of my family members until The were all dead and i had to just watch

i still cry when i think of this dream because it felt so real

i had a reccuring dream when i was young that "i was asleep in bed and a giant had come to the window banged on the window for a while then somehow grab me" i think i might of being watching too much of the BFG.i also had one one night where i was in a room with loads of ghosts, i was on a spinny chair and they all took it in turns to spin me butt i was really scared but i couldn't wake my self up until they had stopped spinning me, when i fell asleep another ghost spinned me around.Wired then

Being gang raped by the devil and his demons while my ex-husband laughs and holds me down. It's in full sensorama too, I wake feeling that it has really happened and I'm in pain in my nether regions. Horrible.
I have this nightmare often, part of my PTSD.

That I was stuck in a dead-end job, working endless hours of boring misery for wages that would make a sixteen-year-old school leaver cry, the only relief coming from Yahoo! Answers and.....
