Research suggests that socioeconomic status plays the most significant role in IQ tests score. Also research says that race is important because creators of the tests are of a certain culture and race; those who are members of the same racial and cultural group are said to do better on those tests. Why is this so? If it's not race or socioeconomic status how do we explain the gap? All P.O.V.'s are requested to be shared.

I have never had a break, I should not complain as everyone has a story to tell and I am sure that there are many people far worse off than I, but I feel so tired of batteling with debt all the time. Dispite getting in touch with CAB who have been great. it is a never ending story, the story of my life. The thing is I don't have one as every day is just another battle with how can I pay this or that, I never get in front always behind, it takes up so much energy, I have very little for anything else and I am just so tired of it, anyone else feel the same, it may help to know that I am not alone. Also anyone got any good luck stories of how there lives were turned around.

Then my mum was with an alcoholic for 4years. My step mum is abusive, she called me a stupid selfish sl*t last hoildays.

I've been surrounded by negative relationship, so now I have little/no faith that my present and future relationships are going to be positive.

I also hate being touched and being affectionate. I can't accept compliments and I have trouble giving them out.

How can I change my negative thinking?

Do you think it is helpful or damaging to let your kids know about your drug past? Say you did drugs, whether it be smoking weed to doing heroin, coke or crack when you were younger. Do you think your kids would be less likely or more likely to do them themselves?

I know some ppl who's kids knew and they did drugs. And I know just about the same amount of ppl who told their kids and they didn't do drugs.

So what's YOUR opinion?

I really want to learn. I used to be able to, sort of, but it's complicated (what isn't?) and I can't really anymore.

She is the worst kind of self centered, egotistical, manipulative piece of work that I have ever had the misfortune to meet. She seldom does her work and is often calling in sick. Yes my supervisor is aware of the situation and for the love of god I hope something is done. However that does little for my situation. I need words of wisdom to help me?

Would it possible to have an award for the most humble person in the world? Wouldn't the person, to have any credibility as being overly humble, have to refuse to accept the award? This would make it impossible to choose a winner, making the selection impossible.

Are you willing to substantially curtail your spending, lifestyle, and consumption to prevent a world-wide catastrophe if it were proved beyond all reasonable doubt?

"It's beyond all reasonable doubt that carbon dioxide emissions contribute to dangerous global warming. Most EU countries have cut their emissions; the United States has barely begun. Unless the US does more to restrain itself, how can we possibly expect China, and other rapidly industrialising countries to do the same. What is to be done?"

Seems like the two should be equal, or heavier consequences on the verbal side... Wondering if it is such a good thing teaching kids to rip each other apart emotionally & mentally is "ok", but to physically lash out is bad. Realistically both are bad and both discouraged.

He says that he gets obsessed over a thought, and cannot get that thought out of his head. If that thought is negative, his mood descends to the point of being extremely despondant, low, gloomy, and full of fear and anger, and, as he described it, 'half insane'. If that thought is positive then he feels energetic, busy, engaged and very up-beat, but sometimes can also suffer from some quite extreme delusions when ‘up’. This has apparently been going on since he was a teenager, but the delusions are relativly recent, and he feels that his state of mind has deteroated over the past 12 months. Any idea what he may be suffering with. I really would like to help him, he's a good guy.
