Thank you Red5, I'm a survivor, I think it's got something to do with whether you chose to look forward and back to a large degree.

I am a survivor. I was born last year. When my mummy had my brother 18yrs ago she says the only thing she can remember is that it took 26hrs. This was because she was afraid to push because it hurt.
So when the lady told her to push when she was having me she pushed with all her might and nearly shot me off the end of the bed!
I was very shocked but I survived.
Now I go everywhere very fast.

I am a survivor! I should have been dead a couple of times but I made it through and am still here. I will always be a survivor. You can choose to look at your circumstances either way and being a survivor gives you strength. I agree that what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger and better prepared to face the next trial in your life.

I think I'm a survivor. Surviving a Catholic upbringing was a big one, also bringing up 4 children virtually by myself was pretty big too, There has been so very many things happen over the years where I could have found a corner and crumbled feeling a victim but seemed to always have been able to put things into perspective, never put myself in that particular position again and come back even stronger. Your only a victim if you ALLOW yourself to feel that way.

i think i am both.......why? , my ex husband was so violent he is in jail now. it went on for 10 years from punching, stabbing, pushed out of a car, had my skull cracked, mental abuse, i was told i was so ugly no one would ever want me except him and in the end i belived him.i eventually got help after my attempt at suicide failed. that was 10 years ago. i am now with a lovely man who treats me like a princess so i am a survivor with that. but i am a victim though as it still gets to me, my house is like fort knox i have alarms, panic alarms, cctv all round the house, i do not go out much and i still think i am hideous even though people say i am not, so i think i am both.

Your logic is flawed. You may be a survivor and a victim simultaneously.

i would like to think of myself as a survivor. the victims are the people who died and can't change their circumstances or stand up for themselves.
