Psychology - March 2007

Anytime that I am eating and someone else in chewing with their mouth open I get the urge to punch them in the face.

Not a long of things get me mad in this world, but for some reason, when someone is chewing like a cow, it gets me so mad.

You know how sometimes when someone is messed up in life, they always relate it back to something that happened when they were a child? Well I wonder what happened to me that has something to do with that because I dont think I have the same reaction as most people do.

What does that mean? I am always being chased by either a man, men, or a monster. All of them want to hurt me and the chase never stops. The scenery and the scenario always changes but the chasing is always there.

At school this one kid always calls me "gay" (I'm not, I don't even see how he got that) and I choose to ignore him, because it's not worth it. And it seems like every day, I hear him say "Why do you hang out with so-so he's gay" And it's so annoying, but I don't want to start anything especially at school, I'm smarter that that. And by the way, the "kid" is sort of fat and is ugly. I could make remarks about that, but again, that would only make the problem worse. Should I care about him doing this? How should I deal with it? It's not like I get offended, it's just annoying every freaking day. It's like he has no life.

A person may receive brain damage and lose the ability to see, speak, hear or feel. These are all common cases.

But is it possible for a person to receive brain damage and lose the ability to imagine? If yes, then is that the same thing as being brain dead?


I can't imagine what it would be like to NOT be able to imagine. (If this even make sense at all) :S

I need to write a 3 page psychology paper on one of the subfields of psychology and relate it to my future profession which is forensic science and also explain how it could help me better understand my future profession.

So far I did some research and found some facts on my profession and on the subfield of psychology I think is best which is forensic psychology. The information includes, what they are and what someone with that proffession would do at their job. With this information I am having trouble putting it all together and am especially having trouble starting my paper I am not that good at writing introductions.

So can anyone please help me get started and give me some ideas on how I should approach writing this paper.

I've looked into Freud's "the uncanny" theory but was wondering whether there are other psychologists who have looked into similar or related theories? any theory to do with people reacting to familiar yet strange things, objects with abnormal user experience, surprise elements etc.
