It's something i've been dealing with for quite some time now.I've been through so many situations where people have taken advantage of me in some way in the past ,which leads me to be suspicious of people getting close to me.In other words,my guard is always up....in fear of getting screwed over.Is there any way i can get over this? I just plain hate people because of it.I'm good at knowing who to trust and who not to trust,but it's getting to the point where i always feel that evry one is against me in some way.

recently I attempted to answer another users supposed question (though its more of a comment or a statement than a question, you be the judge) on yahoo answers. The question was "I have been thinking and dreaming about my mother who died 10 years ago and it is making me very sad right now". That was the totality of the question no additional details. In a good faith effort to help the user I replied "and your question is?" which garnered 5 negative ratings. Call me crazy but this is a Q & A site is it not? Additionally the user mentions his mother had passed away 10 years ago so its not like he hasn't had time to grieve so I
don't think that I was being insenseative by asking him what his question was . So why all the negative ratings?

FALLING

I like to hear from teachers who have experienced both US and other countries students. I know the teachers our district recruited from India and the Philippines are having hard times adjusting to the US student behaviors. I personally have had little behavior problems from my ESL students that just came to the US from Mexico, China, Africa, etc. compared to the numerous problems I've had with the US students (or even foreign student have have been here a while). I'm trying to figure out if or why there is a difference in behaviors?

Why are women that are pregnant considered to be so beautiful. For examples there are scenes in movies where a women might tell her significant other in a surprising way that she is pregnant, and he might reply saying something like, "You've never looked as beautiful as you do now. . . " something to that extent. I know it's the fact that she's bringing another life into this world (which IS pretty big and special) but could anyone that has MAYBE been in this situation explain the emotions that are going through the man.

I'm a young teen who has yet to grasp the complete concept of this and am very curious about this.

By most accounts, I have had an easy life. I'm 16, and the only bad thing in my life is some mommy issues, but even that isn't exactly "crippling". I have never even broken a bone.

Sometimes when I talk to people, they start telling me their sad stories about life. Really crappy stuff that I have no experience with. I can't really relate to anyone's story, and I just feel like it prevents me from being comforting to the sad person. It bugs the hell outa me!

Afer situation like that, I sometimes wish I had some kind of tragic flaw in my life, just so I could relate to people better. It seems irrational, but I almost feel kinda 'empty', like sorrow is a facet of life I have not yet truly experienced.

Is it completely irrational and wrong for me to wish for my life to have an element of great sadness? It seems that way to me, and yet I can't help the way I feel.

We are always pushing for the best, and that is okay but, why the idolotry with everything? What is the importance to us individually?
We make movie stars idols, like Gods, music favorites, like Gods, places we go we have to make them into a special thing all the time. There really isnt anything special about anyone who strives so hard to prove to others that they are better. They are boring and arogant as well, but what is it that compels people to follow these idoloters into oblivion? Wasting their time, and money?
