Someone who is obsessed with dope. I presume you mean some form of drugs. When the drugs are stronger than the person, and the person doesn't realize it, or denies it, they may have a problem.
If it is causing a problem in one's life, one should either stop on their own behalf, or possibly seek help.

Well fiend, as a street term, means that you are basically an addict and you will do whatever to get that fix. Now the true question lies with dope. What is dope? I know of quite a few drugs that are called dope. It depends on the age of the dope fiend as well. Different generations call drugs different things.

Generally speaking, terms such as "dope fiend", "drunk", "druggie", and "pothead" are simplistic and judgmental terms used to define one who uses more marijuana or alcohol than the person who is labelling you as such. To date, there has been no quantitative analysis delineating exactly how many joints per day would qualify one as a "dope fiend". Best advice: Find a new friend who accepts you as the "free spirit" you are.

Someone who lives for dope. The person who's whole world CONSTANTLY revolves around dope and they feel they CAN"T do anything without it. In fact that's what they always do...dope. They look for it even when they already have it, in fear they may run out!!

Considering the name, you'd think "one who steals dope". But I think it has more to do with someone who does dope so much that they WOULD or COULD steal it.
